KhunBENQ
Quote According to Pol Lt Col Prakasit Phradet, an investigator from the Huay Yai Police Station, the exact cause of the accident remained unclear; however, he suspected that the driver might have fallen asleep at the wheel due to fatigue from driving a long distance. Very likely. No break failure this time.

mikebell
Another triumph for Pattaya Plod. IF they ever worked and deterred speedsters and red light runners then Chonburi might become a safer place to visit. 1

Where did you read the police were at fault and this bus was speeding and running a red light? What I read is that they suspect the driver fell asleep while driving, as numerous Thais tend to do. So, what is the source that you based your alternative reality statement on, please? If there isn't one, why did you write something that had nothing to do with this report? 1 1

brianthainess
This is the 2nd recent report of a bus driver falling asleep through "Fatigue" when a second driver was aboard, why are they not getting proper sleep breaks, surely they don't drive the passengers 24hrs a day.

Chan Tours operates as far as Nakhon Phanom. That's about 865 km (537 miles). More than 13:30 hours on an overland bus is my estimation. Route "827" is Nakhon Phanom to Rayong. If they go through Pattaya it adds more mileage. So going on road 331 makes perfect sense. Maybe up to 15 hour trip.
