Popular Post webfact Posted October 12, 2023 Popular Post Posted October 12, 2023 An American tourist, Brian A., aged 28, has been apprehended following a stabbing incident that occurred in the heart of Chiang Mai. In Chiang Mai, a serene evening was abruptly disrupted when Brian A., a 28-year-old U.S. tourist, was implicated in a harrowing knife attack. Quick to the scene, the city's law enforcement neutralized the threat, reaffirming the security of both locals and international visitors. On October 11, an alarming episode of violence erupted. Brian, without apparent provocation, wielded a knife, leaving two overseas visitors injured. Among the victims was Ms. A, 42, a proprietor of a local entertainment spot, who courageously faced the assailant, catalyzing an expedited intervention by the police, as reported by Thai Rath. VIDEO In a concerted effort, the municipal and tourist police forces tracked down Brian at a nearby inn the next day. A confiscated pocket knife, presumably the weapon involved, is now part of the ongoing investigation. The accused, under detention, is anticipated to face legal proceedings for the severe injuries inflicted. The response of Ms. A and the prompt action of the police have been sources of solace amidst the tumult. However, the occurrence has ignited a discourse on the adequacy of safety protocols in the city renowned for its hospitality. Voices advocating for enhanced surveillance and regulations to restrain individuals posing potential threats are becoming increasingly prominent. Doesn't seem an 'expedited intervention' unless I'm missing something. I'm hearing reports one of his random victims has now passed away. Lock the creep up forever! 6 2 2

Popular Post spidermike007 Posted October 12, 2023 Popular Post Posted October 12, 2023 Perhaps this fool was watching too many action movies, or video games. Or jacked up on yaba. What an idiot. The only reason to ever use a knife on someone, is if you or your family's life is being threatened. Otherwise, it will be nothing but regret. Years and years of regret. Unless he is a psychopath. 5 2 3 4
cjinchiangrai Posted October 12, 2023 Posted October 12, 2023 What was the trigger? Knife attacks are never acceptable but neither is stuffing check bins. Regardless, I hope he enjoys his extended stay in Chiang Mai. 1 1 1 1

webfact Posted October 12, 2023 Author Posted October 12, 2023 UPDATE At 8.30pm on the same day, a man from The Netherlands was also reportedly stabbed by Burggraf in the neck and back and is currently in critical condition. Police made the arrest around 10pm. We are getting updates from the police and will keep you posted. Citylife wishes both men a full recovery. CORRECTION: We do apologise, but we are receiving information from the Chiang Mai police spokesperson, but they have also been correcting what they send to us. Latest correction is that Burggraf was arrested at Jet Yod Plaza, not his guesthouse. ARRESTED! In the early hours of Wednesday, a tourist was seen causing a disturbance along Moon Muang Soi 2. According to a local Thai business owner, a Norwegian friend of hers intervened to try to calm the man down as he had been shouting and behaving erratically. However, during the confrontation he was stabbed in the stomach. Source: City Life Chiang Mai 1 3
