Disappointment in Srettha’s Putin Phuket invitation

I am pretty sure this wont make it through the senzors. but it's worth a try. when I imagine Srettha's invitation to Putin, why am I reminded of that episode in ''From Dusk Till Dawn'' 'Come on over to Phuket - you'll love it. It's a (deleted) blowout. 'we got white (deleted), black (deleted), Spanish (deleted) yellow (deleted. We got hot (deleted), cold (deleted. We got wet (deleted). .

Vladimir Putin says there was nothing wrong with Soviet Union's pact with Adolf Hitler's Nazi Germany

Quantifying the evil of dictators can be a tricky business. Most would quantify the horrors of dictators by how many people were killed under his rule. In that case, there were several dictators worse than Hitler.

Mao Zedong - Communist dictator of China - 25–30 million died.

Josef Stalin - Communist dictator of USSR - 30 million died.

Leopold II - Colonial leader of Belgium - had upwards of 20 million Congolese salughtered.

At this point the numbers vary between Pol Pot, Saddam Hussein, Kim Il Sung, Idi Amin, Ho Chi Minh. Anywhere between 1–10 million range.

I would think President Putin might be a bit reluctant to leave Russia at this time with whats happening in Ukraine 😱

He might not get back in to Russia 🥳

Has it emerged? Are the Senators that were put in place, .not elected, still there?  Putin will not ever leave his bunker to vist a Country where the Police shoot each other, let alone all the other carnal goings on. That Thai Gov even initiated an invitation to a man.with a target on his back, is a joke.

Putin went to China, so clearly fear of being toppled whilst outside of Russia is not immediate.

One should hope Thailand will reap negative repercussions from the global community for this action (should Vladimir actually set foot inside Thailand). Not just in the form of rebukes, but economic sanctions and penalties. Not even the 1m Russians visiting Thailand as an escape from this man's ruthlessness can be all that thrilled about his proposed visit.

People forget that Thailand has been part of the non-aligned movement since 1993. That means it is not supposed to align itself with one country or another against others. Hopefully, it wont get dragged into a war between the USA and Russia, or the USA and China.

so are Palestine, Lebanon

Yes, Vietnam is communist same as hiding in plain sight Russia you would expect nothing less Indonesia much the same and Muslim just because your view is sell yourself to any devil for a few dollars because your a small trading country its not right because you say so either.

Have read that VN "hates" the Chinese and I have seen numerous stories about how Russians are not favored there either.  They seem to be much smarter than

the countries immediately surrounding Thailand and what happens to them as they climb into bed with the autocratic rulers.

There is a big difference between signing & ratifying something.

Here is a bit of clarity provided by -

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/States_parties_to_the_Rome_Statute_of_the_International_Criminal_Court

Thailand
Former Senator Kraisak Choonhavan called in November 2006 for Thailand to ratify the Rome Statute and to accept retrospective jurisdiction, so that former premier Thaksin Shinawatra could be investigated for crimes against humanity connected to 2,500 alleged extrajudicial killings carried out in 2003 against suspected drug dealers.

Additionally -

The United States signed the Rome Statute in December 2000 (under President Bill Clinton), but Clinton decided not to submit the treaty to the United States Senate for ratification, stating: "I will not, and do not recommend that my successor [George W. Bush] submit the treaty to the Senate for advice and consent until our fundamental concerns are satisfied."

And . . .

The Trump administration strained relations with the ICC, stating it would revoke visas for any ICC staff seeking to investigate Americans for war crimes. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo stated that such revocations could be applied to any staff involved with investigating war crimes committed by Israel or other allied nations as well.

Also . . .

Four signatory states (Israel, Russia, Sudan, and the United States) have informed the UN Secretary General that they no longer intend to become parties to the Rome Statute, and as such have no legal obligations arising from their signature.

And for those to lazy to read . . .

Not with China, Thailand is no higher than China's kneecaps, not even in the same ballpark, regrettably, Thailand is boardering on 3rd world status

"a concerning trajectory for a nation that has freshly emerged from the shadows of a military junta."  hahaha

I don't think anyone with a brain is fooled about this..!

Thailand is clearly not on the fence anymore. They are clearly with China, Russia. If they think they are fooling the west then they are very mistaken. And that is all this election was for.

Very very good idea to invite Putin! Please don't tell anyone, mostly not the PM as he is not aware of it, but as Thailand is a signatory to the Rome Statute of the ICC our Thai guest must be arrested upon is arrival in Thailand! perfect! Thailand will save many lives of young and less young Ukrainians!

Well, I just hope that the immigration officer at Survanabhumi airport does his job as he does with everyone who enters the Kingdom. There's an Interpol alert for the arrest of Vladimir Putin, that's the main reason that he's been avoiding traveling since the start of the war.
