Popular Post Jingthing Posted October 27, 2023 Popular Post Posted October 27, 2023 Some people think that most all people going through the bloom of youth are at least beautiful humans during that time. I beg to differ. In my opinion, younger people are mostly average looking with some ugly and some beautiful. I suppose some average looking younger people do later enter better looking or even beautiful phases. Maybe they alter themselves at the gym or with surgery, etc. But anyway, the way I look at it there are significant numbers of people who have never been beautiful all their lives. For those that have been, in general the beauty fades away with age though of course older people can be stunning as well. So what's the point of this thread? To invite discussion about your own personal experience with being beautiful in the past (or perhaps you still are) and the feelings about that fading and also from people who have never and will never experience it. The never swoon worthy, do you feel pity for people that had it and lost it? The faded swoon worthy, do you feel pity for those that never experienced that? By swoon worthy beautiful, I will give a personal experience. During my peak bloom, I could walk into a disco and be pursued by countless unattractive people but the key point proving swoon worthiness was that I could approach any of the most attractive people in the joint and close to none would reject my approach. Not saying they all wanted to bed down on the spot (most did), but almost never a rude rejection. So that's what I mean as SWOON worthy. A very high level of desirability. 1 2 4 1 5
Popular Post nikmar Posted October 27, 2023 Popular Post Posted October 27, 2023 ugly as sin since birth - missis only with me for money! 😜 1 1 1 10
Popular Post Jingthing Posted October 27, 2023 Author Popular Post Posted October 27, 2023 And then there is the fall. I remember being 30 and a coworker saying to me -- you know you're not as cute as you think you are. Ouch. It's true. I wasn't. It gets much worse. I guess in my 40s. For some reason my butt was being discussed by a bed partner. He said, I can see that it USED to be hot! Then it's so over. 4 1 4
Popular Post jvs Posted October 27, 2023 Popular Post Posted October 27, 2023 I find people who think they are physically beautiful a waste of time anyway, usually that comes with an attitude and entitlement. On the other hand looking at beautiful people is pleasing to the eye and i do believe physical attraction is what brings people together. It is very rare to find a truly beautiful person inside and out.Todays young people are to obsessed with outer beauty. True beauty is on the inside and that can last a lifetime! 5 2 1 1
Popular Post sidjameson Posted October 27, 2023 Popular Post Posted October 27, 2023 I taught in university in Japan and every new semester I would walk into a classroom and literally hear a deep breath in (Japanese type of swoon) from 90% of the girls. Omg what a feeling and yet also surprisingly taken for granted too. Then one new semester I walked in and ....nothing. Overnight I went from rock star to nice teacher. I was 40. 15 years later I'm still struggling with adjusting. I play in the lower leagues now because I can still get that swoon and would rather have a 40 something excited to be with me than an indifferent 20 something. 4 1
Popular Post simon43 Posted October 27, 2023 Popular Post Posted October 27, 2023 When I was headmaster of a school in Luang Prabang some 11 years ago, I used to check the classrooms after the students had left for home. For some reason, one of those rooms would have a young and pretty Lao teacher (female) sitting in the room all alone who would simply smile at me and say 'Good afternoon Headmaster'. I found out later that various female staff members had heard that I was a bachelor (after 3 marriages) and that getting hooked up with the foreign Headmaster was nothing to lose.... Alas, my previous 3 marriages had put me off marriage for good (no shacking up with a Lao lady if unmarried!), and my sex life has been relegated to investment in the Kleenex company and Marigold rubber gloves! 1 1 6

True beauty is on the inside and that can last a lifetime! I get what you're saying but sometimes people that think they are beautiful actually are. But then we get into what is beauty? Different cultures have different culturally specific concepts of beauty. In the same culture, that can change over time. My context is western gay male concepts of beauty. That has changed since my peak bloom to usually REQUIRE some level of having a gym body. I didn't have that, so with my same looks I had now, I wouldn't have the same high level of swoon appeal. Still OK, but I would be rejected a lot more by the cream of the crop in a bar or these days more like Grindr. Also the swoon worthiness I did have was mostly from men. Women most often aren't particularly interested in twinks beautiful or otherwise. On another note, I did have a swoon bloom in my school age years, but only from about 13 to 15. I got cast as adonis Demetrius in Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream based on my looks rather than my acting ability. Pretty girls were all over me! But I didn't want the girls so I put on weight and that took care of that. 1 1
Popular Post bobbin Posted October 27, 2023 Popular Post Posted October 27, 2023 Fun topic.. I was quite good-looking from my late teens until my mid to late 20's. Then a little bit less so each couple of years. As evidence I would say that all my serious girlfriends and my ex-wife were extremely attractive. I was 31 when i married my ex, who was 21 at the time.. We were rock-stars.. That marriage lasted 20 years and I console myself with the thought that I had her best years. Old(er) age is not kind to anybody in this regard.. I see pictures of very beautiful women then and now.. It's enough to make you want to cry. 4 1 1 1
Popular Post Tropicalevo Posted October 27, 2023 Popular Post Posted October 27, 2023 Same as nikmar Ugly as sin from day 1 and stayed that way for 72 years and counting. I was so ugly as a baby that my mother later told me 'I had to love you as no one else would'. Luckily I have other assets that women seem to find attractive. Never short of a girlfriend or three. (A bit awkward at times.) On the other hand, my wife was gorgeous from the day that I met her when she was 21. I stole her from another bloke and travelled the world with her. She was gorgeous until the day that she died (55). I still love her today.😍 7 3 3
Popular Post Lacessit Posted October 27, 2023 Popular Post Posted October 27, 2023 OP, FYI the term for males is handsome. Definitely not handsome or beautiful now. I was probably at my best-looking in my mid-twenties. I was on an aircraft heading for Melbourne. I had acquired a deep tan from sunbaking in the nude. I was also pretty fit from martial arts training, jiu-Jitsu. One of the hostesses on the plane tried to hit on me. Sadly, I had to inform her I was going back to Melbourne to get married. If I could have seen into the future, I would have gone with her, and <deleted> myself stupid. 2 1 2

You must have had one of them in full measure. 1
NextG Posted October 27, 2023 Posted October 27, 2023 My initial reaction to this thread was to feel like puking 🤢 I took a different approach; to assume that I needed to have something else about me and if I was attractive to someone then that would be a bonus. Also I tended to reject anyone who showed an obvious attraction to me. I’d wait for a deeper connection or it was no go. No superficial relationships for me. 1 1 1

Popular Post observer90210 Posted October 27, 2023 Popular Post Posted October 27, 2023 We all look great at our youth in our sweet 16 !!! The problem is that we realise it only later as when teens, one always tries to look older to pass through the ID check at the club maybe ! But man ohj man..... when I think of all those missed occassions, due to some basic teen shyness....all those moments when the honey pie or the treat of the moment was practically offering herself on the plate..man oh man...I could slap meself now !!🤣 Missed so many chances to make the girlie of the moment happy...🤣 With age we change, better or worse depending on lifestyle and mainly what we allow ourselves and our minds to become. Obviously the sour, angry, rude people, with bad food and drink habbits will turn physically ugly, no matter what. Not always obviously but very often. You can see sharp looks but the eyes give away all the toxic of a person. The ladies and girlies are great in probing this at the first sight. What us guys always forget is that a regular girl (not a prostitute or gold didgger), will usually prefer a guy with normal shape and looks, but who is nice, smart, has inner confidence, funny at ease with others, does not hate or discriminate....rather then the opposite type all great in fitness shape but who is a real asx&&le...ask any (normal) girlie... What we also forget that by female standards, a guy with confidence is not the big mouth at the Sports Bar or the bully at the local testosterone fit-club...far from that. If you have had a normal life, you can see those with inner confidence, who are not lonely, who have succeed in their lives, dont' brag or display, are happy, usually discreet people. always smiling, never a mean word (even if they can be humanly mean inside sometimes🤣). The lonely sour drunks consider such people as fools, as they mistake nice and happy with guilable/stupid. Obvisouly all this is not a rule of the thumb and with exceptions like anything.... 2 1 1

Popular Post Prubangboy Posted October 27, 2023 Popular Post Posted October 27, 2023 I def had a David Cassidy, slightly androgenous, feathered hair thing. If only I was gay so I could really really have milked that. I had a 24 inch waist too (now -well, not QUITE doubled). Today, I look like a claymation cartoon they did in a hurry. 1 1 2

Depends on your reasons for ‘staying in shape’. I did it to so that my partner could have the best boyfriend. Not sure that it worked, since she was INSANELY jealous. I know others may do it to mask other aspects of their character. Not all are a**es. Now I focus on function over form. People who depend only on the superficial fall the furthest.
