Popular Post webfact
How many prime ministers does Thailand have? It’s a question dramatized by the much-taunted action of Srettha Thavisin who appeared to be kissing a hand of Paetongtarn Shinawatra immediately after she was named the new leader of the Pheu Thai Party, a scene that looks like a film’s ending hinting at a sequel. “I’m serious,” veteran journalist Suthichai Yoon tweeted after Srettha jokingly asked reporters “which prime minister” they were seeking comments from. “I heard we have two,” Srettha quipped at the time. “Do we actually have three?” Suthichai asked. His tweet carried a picture of Srettha respectfully bowing before Paetongtarn during the congratulatory scene full of smiles and hand clapping after she officially took the helm of a political empire her father had founded. Srettha retweeted it, and gave a very short answer. “Just one krub, (and the name is) Srettha Thavisin,” he said. To many people, though, that is not convincing enough. Speculation to the contrary has mushroomed unabated. by Tulsathit Taptim Full story: Thai PBS 2023-11-03 - Cigna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m. Popular Post expat_4_life
"Paetongtarn’s rise gives birth to some strange theories" There might be some strange "theorys" ... but seriously, anyone with 2 brain cells to rub together can see what is afoot. Influential and powerful 💪 people always manage to push/pull the levers of power well beyond any useful time-frame - rather simply because they can and it's profitable. I don't see how the Thaksin political dynasty does any specific good for the country. - not a phenomenon unique to Thailand. Yes, just like the Kims in North Korea, the Marcos's in the Philippines, and the 'Docs' in Haiti. - Name of prime ministers in 2030 and 2040? Probably both starting with 'S' and ending in 'a'...
