Nonthaburi police are set to charge Thai singer 'Wahn Thanakrit' for reckless driving following an incident where his Volvo rear-ended a garbage truck, injuring two municipal employees.

The accident occurred early this morning at approximately 4 a.m. near Soi Krungthep-Nonthaburi 13, en route to Tiwanon Junction, reported Daily News.

Thanakrit, also known as Wahn, met with the police and attended to the injured before they were sent to the hospital for alcohol and drug tests, which occurred prior to the pressing of any charges.

The latest updates from Police Major General Jaturont Anurakbundit, Chief of Nonthaburi Police Station, revealed that Wahn had provided his statement, admitting to being fatigued and possibly falling asleep while driving back from work.

The investigation was delayed as the singer and the injured parties were taken to different locations for medical attention. By the time the police arrived at the hospital to administer an alcohol test on Thanakrit, he had already been discharged with minor injuries and had returned home to rest.

Despite the delay in alcohol testing, initial statements and evidence from CCTV near the crash site indicate that the garbage truck was stationary when Wahn's car, traveling in the far left lane, collided with it. The garbage truck driver has been questioned, while the two injured parties remain hospitalized.

Police Major General Jaturont stated that preliminary charges of reckless driving causing injury will be filed against Wahn. However, the case awaits further developments as the condition of the injured is monitored.

The injured employees were sent to the hospital for alcohol and drug tests. Why? Especially when evidence from CCTV near the crash site indicate that the garbage truck was stationary when Wahn's car, traveling in the far left lane, collided with it. I suppose the garbage men could be charged with being drunk while stationary, if the singer is important enough?

Full marks to the guy.

He did not flee the scene.

He 'attended to the injured' before going to hospital himself.

Then he handed himself in to the police.

So he handed himself in when?

He went to a private hospital - how? - had a plaster stuck to his ear, and then fled. I can make this stuff up too. So what's the difference? He evaded the law. Was never breathalysed nor did he provide a urine sample. In other words, the cops let him go without being tested for anything. Typical hiso behaviour. And cops reaction. Bent as.

And is that his mangled wreck in the photo? Red Bull Mk II but no casualties so who cares? He goes home, has 2 large brandies, so any test is invalidated.
