It's really weird. Cambodian people really look different from Thais or Vietnameses.

Any idea why ?

Many Thais could very well be Vietnameses and vice versa.

But people in Cambodia look almost more like Indians for some reason.

Very brown skin. Even more than in Isaan.

(Very beautiful girls here by the way...)

You guys made me think I was losing it so I asked chatGPT.

Cambodians may often have:

Slightly darker skin tones compared to Thais.
Rounded or almond-shaped eyes.
Typically straight or slightly wavy hair.
Broad facial structures.
Some may have more prominent cheekbones.

Thais might typically have:

Lighter skin tones compared to Cambodians, although this can vary widely.
Eyes that are commonly almond-shaped, but there can be variations.
Straight or wavy hair, similar to Cambodians.
Facial features that can range from slightly rounded to angular.
There can be variations in cheekbone prominence.

Viet girls look nothing like Thais? Different bodies, skin and faces. I would say Cambos much closer in appearance but imo a lot smarter / more initiative than Thais...as are the Vietnamese. Only my experience

Most Cambodians belong to the Khmer ethnic group, as do many Thais, especially in the North East. The national borders do not correspond to the distribution of the ethnic groups, which is why there are external similarities between the inhabitants throughout Southeast Asia!image.jpeg.45f337807ddd35122d37548319a131e5.jpegimage.png.458546af8f31bb60316c8482603f6854.png

Thanks, brother.

Interesting maps 👍🙏🏻

I have always had a preference for the Kymer look, so generally find those from Isan more attractive. Not so much those with Chinese heritage.

That's a bit of a sweeping statement perhaps, but you may be partially right.

I went to Cambodia with a former TGF (from Issan) and many Cambodians would attempt to start a conversation with her. So as noted elsewhere in this thread, it's possibly which region of Thailand one is comparing.

Ever mistaken a Dane for a Spaniard? Northern and Southern Europe. Or an Irishman for a Welshman? Both celtic origins. The Khmer and the Tai both originated in southern China and drifted south, so it's just tribal genetics probably. Fair skin is totally over valued in certain sections of society. Asian women spend probably trillions of $ on skin bleachers. Why? Fashion probably. Who knows they aren't breeding white skinned babies.
