I will not speak to "everywhere else", but it seems the same in places I am familiar with. Where are you from? I know in the US, it is important to the left that the poor remain poor and dependent on the government because they need the votes. What other explanation is there for importing poor, low and no skilled people that are often illiterate in their native language, much less English, and that will likely never assimilate be on public assistance for life? Millions of people flooding onto a country increases the size of government, drives wages down, drives housing costs up, reduces the quality and availability of social services, overburdens public schools which forces up the cost of education, while at the same time reduces the quality of education. So, you end up with a permanent underclass, that is dependent on the government, that pay no income taxes and that will consistently vote for higher taxes on the "rich" and more benefits for the "poor". -

The difference between local thai people and those that work with tourists.
The thais who deal with foreigners, choose to do so, only to make a faster buck with cheating and overcharging. No rocket science. Such individual dynamics, obviously makes a person very undesirable (to keep it polite). On the other hand those happy with what they make, are nicer and obviously don't overcharge foreigners. And that's what I do. On the 15th my son used my K+ app to pay for a large amount COD home delivery and forgot to tell me. Hence on the evening of the 15th not enough funds for the SSO to do an auto deduction. As always / every month on the morning of the16th I checked my K Bank balances - no deduction to the SSO on the 15th so same morning had to go past 7/111 so I stopped and made the payment. Super easy at 7/11, all done in 1 minute. -
