I'm afraid this new interweb thing is going to stick a fork into a lot of time honored traditions like Nana, Soi Cowboy and Soi 6.  

 

Why would a cute girl waste a bunch of time in a bar making small talk and sucking up to a bunch of smelly tourists, only to give up a huge chunk of the transaction to mamasan?  Today she can peddle it online while she spends her day doing whatever she likes, she can name her own price, and she can keep it all.

 

Only fat grandma's who haven't mastered the knack of Photoshop have to settle for the walk-in trade, lady drinks and bar fines.

So that they get a salary ( particularly the ugly ones ), so they make money on ladies drink and so that they can hang out with their friends.

ps, you may be a smelly tourist, many are not. most of the long timers here have a steady jump on the side and don't go to gogo's any longer.

Ahmmm...the interwebs aren't really 'new'.

 

And it's not an either/or thing.  It takes time to find online sponsors and the pamily needs money today.

I'm forecasting an entire generation of freelancers that never darken the door of a tourist trap.  They'll go straight from school to OnlyFans and Tinder.  Probably even start while in school.  Turbocharged by the Covid lockdowns where it was either online, or hungry- for a couple of years.

Most of the young women I see in the shopping malls of Chiang Rai are slim. The fatties are congregated at Maccas, KFC and Pizza Hut.

Soi 6 must be a different clique to Walking Street, most of the women outside the bars and go-gos were easy on the eye when I was there a week ago..

 

what's amazing with some posts/topics is that after 2-3 answers the insults start to flow, come on people, most of us are retired thus well over age for some  type of non sense posts, enjoy life as we only have one
