Of course, i hope that the animals are culled humanely (if that's not a contradiction in terms) but even if they weren't, it wouldn't stop me eating meat. I'm a meat eater, that's what i eat.

Let's enjoy MEAT!

Proof, if proof were needed, that there are some seriously 'sick' people in the world!

I also add to kayo's comments. I don't think anyone should look at these especially if you are a bit weak-stomached!

I don't understand your post either, suegha.

Many comments have been made about the need to 'humanly' (ie without unnecessary cruelty) kill the animals we eat. Those links are purely 'sick'. There's absolutely no need for that type of cruelty!

I'm not a veggy, although I do eat far less meat than I used to and feel far better for it!

What unnecessary cruelty did you see from those links? :o

Everything they did was necessarily done to produce meat.

Well meemiathai, once again, we will have to agree to differ. Those images were truely awful. Dogs crammed into cages so tightly that they can hardly move?!? Some of them appear to be strangled - I have heard of this being done. And many other images in there were pure cruelty without any regard for the aninals welfare.

Just because you're going to kill it and eat it doesn't mean you have to mis-treat it!

Wow, you give up really fast. :D

How do you expect them to be processed? One in one cage? If not strangled, how to kill? You know those animals HAVE to go through a certain extent of sufferings especially when we are talking about mass production? Lowering the production costs is an important issue, right?

Well, if they were cows and pigs, would it be much better then? Anything to do with it?

All animals have to go through a certain amount of suffering if they are going to die for our table! However, I think we are responsible for reducing that suffering as much as possible. I, for example, buy only 'free range' and 'organic' animal products. I'm not saying it's perfect, it's better!

You are right about whether it's about cows and pigs. I admit it doesn't make logical sense. Being a dog lover, and having had dogs all my life does colour the picture slightly. Like I say, it doesn't make logical sense. But I still say the point is we have the responsibility to make it as easy for them as possible - or, as alluded to earlier in this thread, become vegetarian! And I'm not prepared to do that!
