If you are going to do it, take it to a ‘short time’ hotel. Keep it private.

It's not even a question of the sex tourism reputation. That's a given with Pattaya and Patong. What really stinks and gets decent people angry is the under age trafficking and the official involvement and collusion in it.

 

Who cares if the documentary is blocked in Thailand. The main thing is the rest of the world gets to see it.

The level of self-awareness (or simply denial) by Thai authorities is astounding. Pattaya is what it is. Nothing new, nothing changed. It would not be a stretch to image a Thailand, without its sex-datination reputation, losing at least 5-10 million tourist arrivals on any given year. Which is why it will never change.

Total fake purity nonsense. People know what is available here. The sex industry is rampant all over the world. Thailand is no different. It is just more transparent. In the West it is much further underground. They are not open and notorious, and sitting out in front of massage parlors. They are online, working as expensive escorts. They work massage, they work in the porn industry. They ply their trade on Tinder, as companions. Far less obvious, but it is the same thing. Equal or greater numbers, per capita. 

The big difference is the honesty of the Thai women, and the way they go about what they are doing. Far more transparency, and infinitely more delightful. They do not seem to be burdened by copious amounts of guilt or regret. They just do what they have to do, and get on with their lives. For me, that translates into integrity. 

Thai women, like all others come in many different shapes and forms. Many are really lovely women, who have the kind of heart, soul, and feminine nature a burned out, overly uber feminized women in the West cannot even conceive of. Same applies to the millions upon millions of SIMPS, and emasculated Western men out there. 

Many of us have met bargirls, or massage girls who are very kind, and are doing what they can to help out their families, who have next to nothing. The culture here gives them few alternatives.

 

The authorities need to start behaving like adults, and come to terms with the industry.

One of the most ridiculous points about blocking the documentary in Thailand is that foreigners from outside Thailand see it worldwide and if that's their desired attraction it only enhances that appeal to go there. Most Thai's (not the Hookers and Ladyboys) don't go there for the sex industry although they know it goes on and turn a blind eye cos that cash gets sent back home and they can claim little Anong's a secretary and makes good money for the family.

 

It has little to no affect in distracting tourism because it's known for being sexpat heaven and draws them like Bob to beer. Yeah some families may avoid it but the bulk of those going there aren't really going for the family outings.

I have only been to Pattaya twice and am convinced that if the sex industry is banned , Pattaya will have nothing to offer,
