Pattaya - In a proactive move to bolster tourism safety and services, the Pattaya Tourist Police recently organized a training program for Walking Street guardians. The initiative aims to equip them with enhanced skills to ensure the well-being of tourists and facilitate the smooth opening of service establishments following the lifting of COVID-19 restrictions.

The program, inaugurated by Pattaya Mayor Mr. Prames Vacharothum, featured prominent figures such as Pol. Lt. Col. Pattikorn Srichai, Deputy Commander of Chonburi Provincial Police; Pol. Lt. Col. Man Rotthong, Deputy Chief of Tourist Police Division 2; and Ms. Amphon Kaewsang, Chairwoman of the Pattaya City Community Police, reported 77kaoded.

Addressing the urgent need for additional personnel due to the surge in tourist arrivals following the government's stimulus policies, Pattaya Tourist Police initiated the "Strong Tourism Community" project. This project, aligned with the Smart Safety Zone concept, focuses on key tourist destinations before expanding nationwide. It involves creating a network that encompasses various sectors within the community, reinforcing security measures for short-term tourists.

Lt. Col. Man Rotthong emphasized the importance of community involvement in ensuring tourist safety, especially during peak periods. The initiative encourages cooperation between Tourist Police and local communities, promoting positive interactions with visitors. Additionally, the project includes training for guardians to engage with intoxicated tourists responsibly.

Lt. Col. Man further highlighted that the Pattaya Tourist Police are committed to aligning with the government's tourism stimulation efforts. Given the insufficient number of on-duty officers relative to the increasing tourist influx, the collaboration with the community becomes imperative for effective safety management.

As the government endeavors to drive tourism growth, the Pattaya Tourist Police's proactive measures underscore the significance of community engagement in reinforcing safety and fostering a positive image of tourism in the city.
