Popular Post TroubleandGrumpy
I feel for you Bro. I have a top denture that over the years just keeps getting bigger as I lose more teeth, and clearly I am headed in your direction. Some years ago my Mother was having some troubles with her full dentures, so I took her to a recommended denture specialist - that was all he did. He said the dentures she had were cheap and not really the right type - so I got her a totally new set. They were a massive improvement for her and they lasted until she passed away over 10 years later. Maybe go to a denture specialist and get a new denture - that will probably be better than trying to 'glue' an ill-fitting set in every day. He/she will also know what is the best denture adhesive to use. Edited December 25, 2023 by TroubleandGrumpy 4

Invest in a liquidiser and a box of straws and ignore expensive dentures. Merry Xmas.

steven100
There are facilities in Thailand that will look after you 24/7 .... you'll be around others with similar problems and needs. Food and cleaning are all included and you will be given all your medicines at correct times. 3

I have saved two molars so far by going to a better dentist, after being recommended to pull the tooth with no other options! They were not low end facilities. All the teeth needed was root canal work, the other an involved re-doing of an old root canal. Without saving those teeth I would be now be missing primary molars on both lower sides, and needing implants or bridges on both sides. Just a heads up to get a second opinion if you ever get told to get an extraction. Edited December 26, 2023 by JimTripper 1

They recommended extraction based on the x-ray and were not willing to try or authorize a root canal procedure due to poor prognosis. The endodontist specialists who actually went in and worked on the teeth were able to save them both times. These were general dentists, not endodontist specialists, making the recommendation for extraction, without getting a specialist opinion first by the endodontist. Usually, you need to be referred to the endodontist by the general dentist. Edited December 26, 2023 by JimTripper
Lacessit
It's a more expensive option; however, IMO the OP may benefit from having his dentures refitted. As we get older, our gums shrink. Adhesives work best when the interface between the two surfaces to be stuck together is as small as possible. The thicker the adhesive layer, the more likely it is to fail. Edited December 26, 2023 by Lacessit

Just a heads up to get a second opinion if you ever get told to get an extraction. Likely a good idea. But, I do trust this dentist. I had just gotten a root canal and crown on that tooth. Over a year later I started to feel pain. Unusual. Got it checked out, and it turned out I had a vertical fracture, which cannot be fixed. The dentist offered me a credit for the work done on the root canal and crown. I thought that was gracious. These fractures are commonly found in weak teeth, teeth that have been treated with a root canal, and other restorative treatments like crown placements. Healthy teeth can also be subject to cracks by chewing on hard materials and foods, like ice. Specifically, when a root canal is being performed, a jolt of pain, sound of popping, or bleeding in the canal might also be a sign of a vertical root fracture that happened during the procedure.
