Good luck getting a job in a k-12 school in Bangkok without a degree. Maybe in the middle of nowhere you could manage it. But all teachers in ym school have a degree and nearly all have the 5 year teaching licence.

All schools under the OBEC banner will need a degree from a teacher I order to get the documentation from Kurusapa In order to apply for a work permit.

Why do those in Bangkok think it's any different?

Could you possibly more accurately define " middle of nowhere"? Thanks.

  • Going by the English I have seen posted by several who claim to be English teachers, I would say the OP can teach French, provided he can walk and chew gum simultaneously.

  • Ummm.... legally you need a degree.

In the past you could. But since immigration started to check the schools, it's more or less impossible. Schools would have to pay a huge fine if immigration finds out, and the teacher risks deportation.

Your only options are schools that don't care or some agencies.

And you can't get a work permit or teacher's license without  a proper degree,

I can walk, but I cannot teach French.

I can't chew gum, but I can teach English.
