Be aware of this even if you have Health insurance cover!!!
Several options: – If I am in intensive care, I won't know anything about what's going on and either the insurance I've currently got will cover it or it won't, and if it won't then I will be off to the great vineyard in the sky and my Thai daughter will inherit the funds I have here in Thailand and the funds I have have in New Zealand by virtue of a Will I have made in NZ and also one I have made here for my Thai assets. Also I could transfer a lump sum to my Thai bank account and that should be sufficient to keep me away from the Grim Reaper and pay the hospital bills and still leave some investments in NZ. I do have a blank form for a "Living Will" so I suppose I should get on and complete that and give it to the hospital/my daughter. Also the power of attorney (POA) form has been mentioned and I should also get on and complete that for my assets here and see if I can do the same for those in NZ. Thanks for the memory jog and I will get onto that in a day or so. PS. Any one of the scenarios above, or a combination of all, should work, or I could simply transfer all of my investments now to my Thai bank account and then won't have to worry, but at the moment I'm averaging about 7.25% per annum, paid monthly, in a "peer-to-peer" lending scheme in NZ and don't really want to scupper that yet. More work to do. -

Report Thailand Rejects Google’s Claim on Disputed Surin Temple Ruins
Thailand too has had an expansionist and aggressive past in respect to land grabs. Over a few centuries, Cambodia went from a regional power to a weak and bullied state, with Siam and Vietnam both trying to dominate and grab its territory. Siam and Vietnam fought several wars over Cambodia, with the result being that Siam and Vietnam decided in 1845 that they would jointly rule Cambodia. It was done without the free agreement of the Cambodians. Siam and Vietnam wished to carve up the country and in a desperate move to save itself, Cambodia agreed to become a procterate of France. In effect, it was Siam's overstep and greed that laid the groundwork for future French expansion into Laos. I really don't think that Thailand told the F to go F themselves. On the contrary, the horrific murder of Grosgurin, the French Commissioner of the Khammuan District Grosgurin and 17 Vietnamese militia members who were burned alive in a house in Kian Khet they were occupying, set Siam up for a humiliating lesson. The French subsequently sent their gunboats up the Chao Praya river and were fired upon by the Siamese defenders. The French responded by continuing to sail up to the Royal palace , anchoring off shore and giving the Siamese the ultimatum of surrendering the territory east of the Mekong, removing the occuping Siamese forces, paying compensation for damages suffered by the French and putting the responsible party on trial for the mass murder at Kien Ket or seeing the palace shelled. Siam caved in and agreed to French terms. That seems more of rubbing the Siamese nose in its poop rather than a F off to France. -

U.S. 3.5 percent tax on remittance transfers is still in the Senate version of big bill
Here is how it works. First of all, these are just versions of the bill that may or may not become law. Until it does, it's completely futile to speculate further. If and when it does become a law, there is a layer of federal bureaucracy that translates the law into specific rules and regulations. E.g., what type of transfers will be subject to the tax (credit card vs debit card vs SWIFT vs financial technology companies etc.); who will be subject to the tax (US Citizens vs US Permanent Residents vs non-residents, etc.), and other conditions and exceptions (e.g. US Citizens living abroad, US Citizen supporting family abroad, etc.). -

Tourist visa after ED
An education extension can ONLY be cancelled at the immigration office that issued it. Many reports that Chiang Mai is no longer an easy airport to enter. -

Tourism Pattaya's New Tourist Tide: Indian Visitors Stir Up Debate
BTW it's spelled racist. The guy's comment, which sailed over your head, was against the racism regularly seen in this forum, BTW, Are you more of an olive green or olive brown? Or are you a black olive? Or military camo olive drab? I think aliens are more olive green. Does your color help with camouflage in the jungle? Can you disappear into the Thai jungle, invisible? OK. So much for the jokes. You need to go back to school and work on your English comprehension -

UN report accuses corporations of profiting from Gaza genocide, urges sanctions on Israel
It shows how inefficient Israel is with respect to its critics, why havent they unalived her? No genocidal regime should allow such stuff. Incompetence. Well maybe they will get to her later, she is clearly a terrorist shill.
