This has nothing to do with the foreign women and everything to do with an authoritarian Government acting like dictatorships. 

 

Cities the world over will be horrible places to live in the future. Anyone who values freedom should go live in rural areas.

Firtst of all they complain about the 2 women sunbathing and say there should be a sign telling tourists that it is forbidden to sunbathe in the temple grounds - they get their wish for a sign and now they complain about the sign! They'll be complaining about the sunshine next saying that it is tempting people to sunbathe! Thin skinned or what?

Well, my comment is ,of course, partly tongue in cheek. But only partly. Decades of living here have taught me, that there is one law for Thais ,who can be very litigious when it comes to their reputation/profit/face, and one for non-Thais. Thais suing farangs and fellow Thais for defamation is a common occurrence, so is violence in regard to loss of face. 

Never heard of a farang suing a fellow farang in Thailand for loss of face.

What they did was wrong in Thai eyes , the sign is just a thoughtless childish act of some official.  Much worse than that around the country.

Just add it to “ Funny Thai signs” online. Have a look, some of them are priceless!!!

Well I can only speak for myself, I do have a life, I have a very good life. I do rage on this forum occasionally, but I would never describe myself as an outraged netizen, I don't take this stuff very seriously and I'm mostly posting just for fun, and the sort of camaraderie that comes with interactions with other guys on this forum, many of whom are very intelligent and articulate, so speak for yourself. And this sign is a very clear reminder for anybody that they should think twice what they do.

Is it nice? Not really. But then, it is also not nice from tourist to disrespect Thai cultural heritage.
