Crocked lower back..

Featured Replies

I'm,  79 three weeks ago I crocked my back doing light exercise, I was taking Paracetamol but it didn't help, so after a week went to see Dr was given an injection and tablets

the injection and tablets did nothing for the pain, so my Wife got some tablets on the black market, these have done nothing except upset my stomach,

Its very sore when I get up in the morning, I would apricate any surjections. I'm in Lamplaimat, Buriram . Thanks in advance.

I've just got over a prolapsed disk which took three months to heal. The doctors wanted to operate of course but I know from experience that if you can get through it, three months or so should see you healed without an operation.

No lifting, good posture, anti-inflammatory such as Myonal or Arcoxia are effective, as is Tylenol 6 hour. Heat pads work well, followed by some slight stretching and ice packs. If problems sleeping, try Gaba100 before going to bed. If you are able, back strengthening exercises such as bird dog do work well because it helps strengthen your back muscles.

Phiten titanium power tape disks available on line in Thailand,

just do wonder.

Celebrex work well for back pain but at a cost.

Best

oh

Try long term very gentle swimming to strengthen the back, especially for tall people.

You need time for the pain to go, weeks usually, pain killers often don't touch back pain, be patient.

Become very aware of what causes little tweaks and avoid

Whatever you do, do not take unknown medications from the "black market"!!! Potentially dangerous.

Presumably the injection and tablets given by the doctor were anti-inflammatories.  Since they did not help and the pain remains severe after 3 weeks it is time to see a proper spine specialist  and have an Xray (at your age vertebral feacture is a possibility) and depending on what that shows, maybe an MRI  to see what is going on.  I know it is a long drive but I recommend you go to Khon Kaen and consult Prof. Sueachai Sae-Jung at Srinagarind (KKU hosputal) through their "Special Medical Center".

There are reasonably priced hotels right near it.

A few days of ice, heat pad, and Tramodol work for me.  Celebrex is good.  With the medications limit the days. Don't sit or lay around all day move but don't lift or stress.  Stretch lightly.

You should listen to what Sheryl says and follow her advice, she is far more knowledgeable about these things than anyone else here..

Agree, it is of critical importance to know what the source of the problem is. That will require the services of someone further up the skill set than a general practitioner.

Any pills your GP gives you are masking the pain, not necessarily fixing the cause.

Bear in mind also that prolonged use of anti-inflammatories comes at a cost to the kidneys.

So its been several months now since i posted, my problem resolved its self over a couple of months, during this time I was still doing exercises while lying on the sofa, with a 3k kettle bell, straight arm lifts, arm curls, also doing as much as   I could with my legs and feet, I couldn't use my treadmill, I'm telling you this because off my other ailments, I suffer from, Emphysema, Pulmonary Artery Disease, {,taking one Aspirin a day} and worst of all Apathy, at times I have to force myself to keeping up with my exercises. Use it or Lose it.
