Rain?

Featured Replies

So we were doing some work over at the farm, Here in Khon Kaen . It was kind of overcast, but no surprise with everyone burning the fields.

Then the skies opened, and wet stuff started coming down,

Wife said it was rain, she said it was something that used to happen in the past.

I like this rain thing, it was kind of referencing, you think we will be getting more of it in the Future?

Seriously , Has not rain here since last October. If i remember correctly. Tired of watering everything from the well to keep it from dying.

Nice to see a good downpour , I an sure Ill be crying a different tune a few months from now.

We got an hours worth in Ratchaburi this afternoon .

Bit of relief from the smoke and haze.

We also had a nice rain the other night down here at PKK, and very welcomed.

We are both going to complain about the Rain soon enough LOL

Byr my garden is so damn Dry, and I have a Rai of it. I am tired of watering.

So God if you are listening. I am filling a formally complain, and is officially submitting a formal application for rain

I love the rain and always try to make sure I'm in Thailand for the wet season. Love finding an outside bar at 3pm to await the cooling off storms.

Very disappointing last year, stayed Aug-Dec and I had only 2 lots of rain, both during the night a.m. hours 😞

You know what so do I

It's a good excuse to be lazy.

3/4ths of the  covered downstairs of our house is open with an outside kitchen and bar and a small refrigerator alway stocked with cold beer.

Love to just sit the , have a beer and play with the dogs. Often my Neighbor from down the street comes over, we hangout and shoot the breeze .

I  miss it.

I never complain about rain.

No percentage in it.

I would prefer much more rain, just so that the lawn might not look so brown.

I have a well, but how to get the water out of the well, and onto the lawn?

Any ideas?

Maybe I could use a bucket on a piece of twine?

Does anyone know if I might be able to use a small pump, or something?

Maybe like one of those fish tank pumps, only bigger.

I don't want to spend much money on a pump, just for the brown lawn.  Need some cheap solution.

Just a hose down into the well, and then a hose out to water the lawn.

Otherwise, I would need to use the community potable water source, if it is even potable, which I do not know, either.

I have been dwelling upon this well problem for some weeks, already....

So, if it would just start to rain every day, even for about an hour, then my problem would be solved.

Not sure if this is even a serious question..

on some threads you suggest that you are sone sort of Intellectual tech .

and on another that you don't know how to get water out of a well.

What kind of well you would use a rope and bucket?  A big hole in the ground?

Most wells I know use a submergible pump with sufficient head to  lift the water the distance necessary to get it out of the well and ay sufficient volume for irrigation.

If you are serious and/or suffer from multiple personalities, more information on your well would be nessacery.

This is just the typical well you see almost everywhere near houses with a bit of land, in Thailand.

You know the type.

Brick-lined cylinder which is dug into the ground, deep enough to have standing water.

In this case, some sort of sump pump could be used, I guess.

Also, a bucket would work.

Just depends upon how energetic one feels, I guess.

I am not willing to spend a lot on a pump system.

Some cheap option is required.

Nothing cheaper than a bucket.

But, I am not young enough for this route.

I have never seen one of those and I have seen many wells.

Usually it is a 5' PVC pipe driven into the ground to the water table level. Of course it will not work.

depending on the grass you have , you would need 1-25 inches of water per week. do you know how many buckets this would be. On the plus side you would have arms like Popeye

A hand pump would be a cheap option. Something you probably had a lot of practice with

That Topic I posted has now been locked, I think, and perhaps for good reason.

A handpump would be OK for drinking from.

During the hot season, one might work up a real sweat for irrigation purposes, however.

Sorry!

:sorry:

I humbly apologise that I inadvertently omitted the obligatory laughing emoji which, as we all know, is a mandatory requirement by anyone with at least an IQ above a 5 YO who responds in an apparently serious way to any of the GG's posts!

My Comment was meant in it's anti GG jest!

😅

Not a problem. I get it.

I always take anything GG with a grain of salt.

If I was him , I would burn this moniker and start a new account.

Also I would give him a piece of advice. Use a less pretentious user name. One thing I have noticed is that the more pretentious the User name is (some philosopher,  scientist, science term)  the more stupid the poster is.

There was a member here I really liked. I wonder what happened to him. His User Name was Blue couch, so I asked "How did you get your used name" he said he was signing up to TVF and the section came to chose a user ID. He said he looked across the room and there was a blue couch there.

I loved it.

Also loved all of his post, because right or wrong IMO,  he was always jenuine .

I think GG needs to start over. and perhaps  Red couch is available

Thanks for your response which I really liked!

I would prefer that it stopped and didn't start over but if it must please may it stick to FACTS and not flight of fancy!
