Turkish also has a terrible safety record.

Gulf air is o.k but there planes are old and the hostesses are pretty ugly.

Can't help thinking about the Turkish (THY) DC10 that crashed in France back in the 70's killing 300 odd pax.

Also recall seeing a recent picture of a widebodied Gulf Air aircraft in about 30 foot of water with just the tail visible, after presumably landing short.

Myself I would stick with Etihad or Emirates, good equipment, usually western crews and reasonable prices.
