This had a separate extractor to extract water from the clothes.

 

First, you washed the clothes.

Then, you removed the completely knotted and twisted clothes.

Then you loaded the knotted mess into the extractor.

Then....

You just threw the machine and the knotted clothes off the balcony.

Very simple process.

 

The Samsung machines are just about the same, in my estimation.

I have used washing machines most of my life, at university, at home at age 9, in HK, in Taiwan, in Mexico, in Canada, in Japan, and many other places.

 

Why not just refer to the link I posted above which ranks Samsung 10th, in last place, out of 10.

I bought my GF a Samsung washing machine about 6 years ago, she loves it. Much easier than beating wet clothes on the concrete sides of the local klong, although I do miss the wet T-shirts.

a. I agree, absolutely, with your reasoning about the fact that the washing machine, whatever brand, was instrumental in setting women free from drudgery, with concomitant major impacts on society, as a whole.

 

b.  The "Death of a Salesman" was one of the most depressing plays I ever read.  Even the name Loman sends a shiver through me.  Even worse than the Grapes of Wrath, by far, in my opinion.

Are you living under a rock? In the last few years loads of laundry places have popped up with nice stainless steel front loaders and dryers. Saw two new ones last week within 100 metres of each other when I went to immigration. One of them in a PTT station. They had washers and dryers up to 28kg capacity. My medium size town has two places that I know of and I don't go looking for them.

Good question!

 

Those machines which have drums which are horizontal are far more efficient and effective than the Samsung garbage most of us are forced to use here in Thailand, when resorting to the COIN-OP Option.

Front load washers must use a rotating seal to keep the water from dumping out. If the seal really works washer is more expensive than a top loading model and more trouble to deal with. If the seal isn't top quality it still wears and fails sooner. Top load washers need no such seal.

Our first washing machine here gave us lots of problems and I had to make several trips to their spares shop. Since we got rid of that, we've used Electrolux which has been trouble-free.

For appliances Samsung are not known for it, LG is better and more reliable.

 

Samsung are only know for their phone, yet their phone tend to have problems once it hits 4-5 years in average.

Asia is so FAR behind the curve in washing machines and clothes dryers, compared to the more Powerful ....  US of A!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

 

    We have clothes driers in our Pattaya house and our Bangkok condo.  Both work just fine.  One's an Electrolux and the other is a Beko.  The clothes washers we own have extra spin cycles, which we use, and the clothes are fairly dry when they go into the driers.  We do at least one load of wash a day and, these days, I can't imagine hanging the clothes on the too-small clothes racks we had on a procession of condo balconies, like we used to do.  That ship has, thankfully, sailed.  Over the years, we've had LG, Sanyo, Mitsubishi, Hitachi, as well as the above brands and probably some others, and the only problem has been with our robot vacuum cleaner, which is pretty old now.

Dear Folks,

 

I wish to provide an update, if you do not mind....

 

a. As some of you might know, I purchased a Samsung TOP-LOADER which was on sale for an extremely reasonable price.

 

b. I have used this 16-Kg washing machine for several months.

 

c. I am EXTREMELY PLEASED with it.

 

d. I think that you really cannot beat it....FOR THE MONEY.

 

e.  The machine I purchased is very quiet, and it does its job quite well.

 

f. Sometimes, I load it with 16 Kgs of all sorts of clothes and sheets, all added at random.

 

g. In the past, using the coin-operated Samsung machines I had used at guest houses, all of which were coin-operated machines, I developed a justifiably bad opinion.

 

h. However, it would be truly unfair of me to not report that I have modified my opinion....now...based upon my good experience with the self-owned Samsung machine which I purchased.

 

i. This Samsung machine is extremely low priced.  But, still, it does a good job at what it was engineered to do.

 

j.  I would be very willing to recommend this same Samsung to anyone, especially my friends. And, especially cost-conscious friends of mine.

 

k.  Here are some of the things that this machine does right....

 

1. I can load this machine with 16 Kgs of clothes, and it handles this load quite well.

2. Extremely quiet, which is a big plus.

3. There are plenty of digital settings for all washing situations.

4. This cheap machine is still direct-drive, meaning NO belts to wear out.

5. The top lid of the machine is transparent.  And, I like this, because I find it relaxing to watch the clothes churn back and forth.

6. The machine, itself, is aesthetically designed in a more neutral way to fit any home laundry room.  The machine I bought is a very nice subtle color of greenish gray, with dark gray panel, and red indicator lighrts.

7. So far, I have NOT experienced even one negative experience with this machine, something very rare for me.

 

8. Here is the machine that I purchased, which is super cheap....SUPER CHEAP...IMHO....

 

 

 

9.  I cannot say whether or not this type of machine might be right for your wife...but....so far:

 

This machine is right for me.

 

10. Thank the gods I will never, again, be forced to use a coin-operated machine.

 

This Samsung...if only for me....seems to be one of the best products I have purchased, this past decade.

 

11.  Note: I only report the facts, and nothing but the facts, Folks. And, I try to do this without undue bias.....

 

12.  For me, so far, this machine has been....A Winner.

NOTE: One thing that might have made a difference for me in my washing experience, compared to the Guest-House machines....

 

When I wash clothes, I turn EVERYTHING UP TO MAXIMUM on this machine....

 

a. Water level TOPS

b. Washing time...TOPS...30 minutes...

c. Spin time....MAXIMUM....a long time....

d. Rinse cycles, I like 3 rinse cycles....

 

So....you cannot make these selections on coin-operated machines.

And, I LOVE to use a LOT of water.

Detergent?

I also use a LOT......

 

I care less about saving the environment than I do about getting my clothes Spic and Span....

1. a very select few who listen to JS Bach, all the time

2. Seldom do I feel the need to wear clothes.  Bedclothes I cannot do without. 100-percent cotton, and no exceptions.

3.  What is your budget.  If you want very low cost, and reliable, then buy the machine I purchased. It's good for the money....
