Jetski Competition

Featured Replies

Just spent tha weekend or so in pattaya diving and rammin hoez, as I was leaving they had began setting up for some sort of Jetski competition that apparently starts @ the beggining of next month, whats it all about? Looked pretty serious stuff to me...

Might have to plan another "diving trip" to coincide with it.. :o

Should ban all jet-skis.

I thought that the rules in Thailand about having a qualified sailor in charge of every vessel (includes jet-skis) was being enforced in Pattaya/Jomtien and Phuket, just to keep these noisy, polluting, selfish, dangerous machines out of the tourist areas. For every satang earned with these things, hundreds of dollars are lost by people leaving the beach.

Also had a friend killed by one a few years ago. Ridden by a member of the armed forces in Libya, so it was written off as a shark attack.

Jet Skis aren't the problem- its the <deleted> that use them. Great fun when you do so in a safe fashion. I'd had quite a laff everytime I've been out on them. Do agree not something you use wear swimmers are at any rate.

We were doing laps around a freighter a few years back. :o

its not the jetskis that are the problem imo, its the pricks with the boats to coral island etc.. They agree a price and then decide to double it on your return, and they are prepared to have a fight over it :o
