Foreigners among World Central Kitchen staff killed in Israeli strike

Recommended Posts

The 3 British killed were part of a security team apparently, wonder if they also had weapons and maybe mistaken for Hamas?

Most have already condemned the atrocities and war crimes committed by Hamas but now they have been eclipsed by the far more numerous atrocities and war crimes committed by Israel.

Most haven't condemned the 7/10 atrocities, not sincerely anyway!

Some good information in this post, hopefully we will get some form of protection for all aid workers after this investigation is concluded.

Mr Netanyahu said in a statement: "Unfortunately, over the last day, there was a tragic incident of an unintended strike of our forces on innocent people in the Gaza Strip."

He said officials "will do everything for this not to happen again".

US President Joe Biden said he was "outraged and heartbroken" by the deaths and said he had spoken to WCK founder Jose Andres.

"Israel has not done enough to protect aid workers trying to deliver desperately needed help to civilians," he said.

"Incidents like yesterday's simply should not happen. Israel has also not done enough to protect civilians."

He said an Israeli investigation "must be swift, it must bring accountability and its findings must be made public".

Some good information in this post

There has not been exactly fulsome condemnation of Israel's atrocities by Western governments either (even though there has been by the populations they claim to represent).  So let's just call that evens.

Let's not, let's remember who started this war.

Isn't it the right time to apply NATO's article 5 and send polish and frehch forces to Israel?

No. Israel is not a member of NATO , nor have they been requested by Israel.

Al Jazeera Sanad probe: Israeli forces deliberately hit WCK convoy | Israel War on Gaza News | Al Jazeera

Quite impressive and credible investigation by Al Jazeera has found that the multiple attacks on WCK convoy were, in fact, intentional contrary to Israel’s claim.

Basing the research on open-source information, witness testimonies, and images from the site, a chronological and geographical timeline of the events was constructed.

One can read the report, evaluate the veracity of the evidence then formulate a view on what really might have happened.

I believe the IDF apology and admission - and I will believe their investigation report on what happened and why.

I do not believe anything coming out of Al Jazeera regrading Israel.

I assume you're unaware the NGOs route had already been cleared with the IDF.

Perhaps they took an accidental wrong turn and were going in a direction that was not 'approved' by IDF?

Not stating anything as fact - just summising a reason why someone in IDF fired missiles at those vehicles.

Like many people - I will wait for IDF report and then decide - if there was no extenuating circumstances, then massive pressure will be applied to Israel to stop the 'mistakes'.

Yes I know that means Hamas will have 'won' because they will still be there - but too many mistakes is just too many mistakes, and Israel will have to move towards taking a different strategy for dealing with Gaza.

Maybe the so-called 'aid workers' need to stay the hell out of a war zone.

Can anyone tell me how much Hamas has done "to protect civilians"? It seems the blame is very one sided.

We all know that Hamas' strategy has been to allow and even failitate the deaths of civilians (and Hamas non-military supporters) in order to gain world media attention (headlines like this one) and from that many world leader's support and for that 'pressure' to stop Israel finding and killing/arrresting all of them.  But IMO IDF has taken far too long to find and kill/detain Hamas forces - me thinks this will be a truning point and Israel will start developing an alternative stratgey. Perhaps they will leave and just build a bigger wall and refuse anyone from Gaza to enter Israel (like Eqypt does on their border with Gaza). Or perhaps they will try to maintain a presence in Gaza and from there try to enforce law ansd order and have a genberal election which hopefully will remove Hamas from the position of authority. IMO they should just leave and follow Egypt's lead, plus actively target and destroy Hamas cells when they pop back up or build more tunnels.  Hamas aint ever going to stop being terrorists and killing military and non-military Jews, and you would have more chance of killing all the coackroaches in New York than eradicating all the Hamas military and non-military supporters - short of nuclear strikes - but the cockroaches would survive that anyway.

Obviously a mistake but a big mistake.

There is the war war and the PR war.

Israel is losing the PR war badly.

Netanyahu should resign but of course he won't.

Mistake, yes.  But was it an accident?   Or a calculated strike that had an unexpected result on the world stage?

Regarding Netanyahu, seems a lot of Israelis agree:

The third day of a four-day anti-government demonstration quickly descended into chaos as protesters holding torches spread through neighborhoods in Jerusalem, heading for the prime minister’s residence.

https://www.rt.com/news/595319-israel-protest-netanyahu-residence/

If they did that in New York or London, it would be called out as anti-Semitism.  I wonder what they call it when Israelis do it?

British aid workers 'all valued team members', says security firm
We're now hearing from Solace Global, the security firm that employed the three British citizens killed in Monday's strike.

Speaking to the BBC, non-executive director Matthew Harding says the men were "all valued team members, to whom we were very close" and it was a "tragic loss".

He adds that the man were working as "security and safety advisors to the convoy”.

He confirms their convoy was hit as they were returning to the compound after delivering food aid.
