How can you comfortably eat with some fossil digging pad khrapao out of his back teeth whilst getting air to his ugly diabetes feet.

You're another "Falang" with a holier-than-thou attitude taking the ridicule of other people to another level - making jokes about people with advanced diabetes who are trying to enjoy a meal before they die or have their legs amputated.

 

Do you really spend your meal times watching other people that closely - observing their feet?

They are scruffy slobs with zero social manners. Most or all of it self inflicted. Why should i be sympathetic?

No, you're a social snob who thinks you're superior. I've eaten in the Big C Extra food court since back in 2006, and never had the problems you claim to have... It's just bs, pure and simple. Stop being a creep and watching people so closely. The crowd there is the same as it is anywhere else. Best you eat at home.

Cheap (good) food is a feature of Thailand. One to enjoy.

 

Scruffy unkempt seedy down at heel farangs are also a feature of (certain parts of) Thailand. The trick is to avoid the latter. 

 

Personally, I find that cotton made to measure "polo" shirts and proper shorts are cheap, comfortable, cool, look smart and coupled with 5 minutes with an iron of the morning avoid the down and out in Thailand look. I can stride into the food court, secure in the knowledge that I am as "hansum" as I can reasonably expect.

Let's stop the personal attacks and focus on the subject.  Food courts aren't everyone's fine dining experience and that's ok. 

 

They serve their purpose.  Some are better than others and if we can pass on our experiences, then others may benefit.

I have eaten at Big C extra food court for many a year on and off....

 

Most of the food there is Thai food for Thais....Not very appealing for farangs..

 

Covid killed the few places that were leaning more towards a farang taste....But I have not been there for 6 months so maybe its better now..??

 

The food court gets a zero for atmosphere...

But

The food court get a 10 for value that is if you can find at least somewhat OK food there...

Pfffffttttt...You can step right outside and places on klang have good rice dishes for 60 baht that are freshly made. But noooooo...everybody has to sit at the food court and stare at each other and breathe other people's air because it's tooooo hot outside. 🤣

Yes i do mostly eat at home - so i'm not amongst the awful teeth pickers and the truly gross who sit there flossing!! Zoo animals have more class.

I only buy food from places were i know that there is a soap dispenser in the toilets the staff are likely to use.

 

A piss in the nearest alleyway doesn't fill me with confidence about hygiene.

I like Pier 21 at Terminal 21, go there for quick lunch.

Only problem is the chinese that refuse to que, the Thai that wants to pay with their cellphone and not with card.

And off course the elderly falang sitting for one hour with a coffe occuyping a table during lunch rush,

For those (like me) who have not been to that particular food court, this video shows it and actually has a sampling of quite a few farang patrons, so you can make your own conclusions 😅

 

Personally I recall being quite impressed with the very large and very clean "street food stall" food court of Terminal 21 in Bangkok, although the sampling I got was of low quality, albeit I did that intentionally figuring that it was a fairly safe and relatively sanitary place to try "street food".    But the better eateries were on higher floors away from the food court.   I assume the same holds true for Big C Extra, a mall food court is for cheap, fast, lower-quality convenience food for people passing through or stuck there while family or significant other does their shopping.

 

BTW the lady in the youtube thumbnail is nowhere to be seen in the video, maybe having that info will spare some of you some time in clicking and fast-searching in vain.
