Popular Post snoop1130
Former Move Forward party leader Pita Limjaroenrat told his supporters in the north-eastern province of Khon Kaen today that this Songkran may be his last as a member of parliament, because of the grim prospect that the party may be dissolved by the Constitutional Court. He said that about a month from now will be the most difficult period for the party and himself, but he vowed that the new party, to be formed should the verdict go against them, will win a landslide in the next election. Pita has been on a campaign tour in Nong Khai, Udon Thani and Khon Kaen for the past three days, including today, to meet with party’s supporters and to join their Songkran celebrations. 0ffshore360
I have concluded that the very strange manipulations of legal application in general that presents the Thai public as of the moment has been orchestrated in the hope of diverting interest in MFP . Bringing back the distraction of Thaksin in league with the elite establishment is possibly/probably the least action to preserve a version of status quo governance. Pita may need consider quite serious personal protection if he envisages the formation of another edition of a democratically principled Party. Wonders never cease but the Charter Court has yet to rule. Bets anyone? 1

I truly hope he will surive long enough, politically and otherwise, to see his hopes and dreams for this country come true. 2 1 4 2

As a convicted criminal out on parole the count has no business even opening his mouth about politics. Ken Thailand, joke. 2 1 2

Popular Post spidermike007
The recent events are worthy of a mass funeral. Thailand might have been the tiger of SE Asia a decade or so ago, having been the 22nd largest economy in the world, but those days are long gone. So, I would say it would be safe to refer to Thailand as an up and coming country, post Covid. I would not be surprised to see Thailand in 75th place in terms of GDP, 20 years from now. There is absolutely no doubt the nation is moving backwards, on at least a dozen levels. And unless a dynamic leader like Thanathorn or Pita is allowed to lead, the great tiger will continue to devolve into a whiny little street cat. Go ahead and stick with regressive, conservative policies, resist change and progress at all costs, and run your nation into the ground. Thailand mourns. For now, its future has been stolen once again by the army thieves and goons. The army is no doubt the enemy of the people, and so is the new stooge PM. The recent election shows that the people are both sick of being led by highly ignorant dinosaurs, with no interest in progress, and are interested in smart, young folks, who are serious, accomplished, capable of change, and interested in insuring that Thailand has a good future. Pita is exactly what this nation needs, at this point in time. However, he was too progressive, and the goons had to stop him, in the name of regression. They did turn out giving MF a huge majority and Pita was set to be PM. But he was stopped by the junta appointed senate. They turned out big time and were robbed by military supported dinosaurs. Doesn't matter how popular they are or how many votes they got, does it. They were the 'wrong' party so were not allowed by a handful of unelected dinosaurs to form a government. Same treatment as any 'wrong' party receives. They are banned or removed by a coup. And Thailand calls itself a democracy. That has the same validity as calling itself a Buddhist nation, where every rule in the book is broken. 2

But they didn't back it up when they got screwed by the military junta, they rolled over and let it happen, just like the Thaksin debacle... hardly a protest, and the same will happen when Yingluk comes back, courtesy of father. No hope with the current population as they are too lethargic. Maybe in a generation or two. But then again, the elites like the Thaksin clan are also breeding successors.

You mean the case that was dismissed, regarding the long defunct, no longer existing media company, where he used to be a shareholder..? Well, you know, when they want to get rid of someone, they just keep digging and digging until they find any technicality they can use against you, don't they? Strange that PM Srettha was not exposed to the same scrutiny... Edited April 16 by Excogitator

ITV, which ran a television station, ceased operations in 2007 and was delisted from the Stock Exchange of Thailand in 2014. Pita (and his fellow heirs) inherited the shares in the defunct company from his father. Pita eventually moved on to transfer his shares to the other heirs, and now holds no share in the (defunct) company.
