Accident Body of British Man Found After Fall from Phuket Yacht
Picture courtesy ofThai Maritime Enforcement Command Centre Region 3 PHUKET - The body of a British man, Endnaler Johnson, was found on Thursday after a distressing four-day search following his fall from a Malaysian yacht near Phuket. Mr Johnson fell overboard from the yacht De Mareft, registered in Langkawi Island, Malaysia, around 2.45 am last Sunday. This tragic incident happened about one nautical mile north of Cape Yamu in Phuket's Thalang district, prompting an immediate search operation. The Thai Maritime Enforcement Command Centre Region 3 responded swiftly after being contacted at 10.40 am on the day of the incident. A Royal Thai Navy ship led the search efforts, supported by local boats and jet skiers. Sadly, Mr Johnson's body was discovered washed ashore on a beach at Koh Raet, a privately owned island located off the northeast coast of Phuket, on Thursday at 2 pm. The discovery of Mr Johnson's body marks a sombre end to the coordinated search involving various local and naval resources. His body has now been brought to the mainland, where an autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of death. The local authorities have extended their condolences to Mr Johnson's family during this difficult time. The tragic incident serves as a reminder of the unpredictable nature of the sea and the importance of maritime safety.
