Trump Likens Biden Administration to 'Gestapo' at Private Donor Event

Recommended Posts

The fact that both parties have no candidate that is younger and acceptable by most people is the reason you have Dozy Don versus Sleepy Joe. No point in complaining now.

Former President Donald Trump sparked controversy at a private donor retreat in Palm Beach, Florida, where he compared President Joe Biden's administration to the secret police force of Nazi Germany, known as the Gestapo. Trump's remarks, delivered during a closed-door luncheon, centered on his legal troubles and recent indictments of his former aides in Arizona.

Describing Biden's administration as a "Gestapo administration," Trump criticized the prosecutors involved in his cases and lamented the ongoing legal challenges he faces. He expressed disdain for the indictments against his associates and denounced Biden as "the worst president in the history of our country," labeling him as "grossly incompetent" and "crooked as hell."

Trump's disparaging remarks extended to Jack Smith, the special counsel prosecuting two federal cases against him, whom he referred to as an "evil thug" and "deranged." The former president's comments drew sharp criticism from Biden's campaign spokesperson, who condemned Trump's rhetoric as despicable and insulting.

The event, held at Trump's Mar-a-Lago Club, coincided with the Republican National Committee's spring retreat, attracting hundreds of donors. Despite his legal obligations, Trump made time to address the attendees, highlighting the challenges posed by his criminal trial in Manhattan and his commitment to his political endeavors.

White House Condemns Trump's Comparison of Biden Administration to Gestapo

The White House swiftly denounced former President Trump's recent comparison of the Biden administration to the Gestapo, the Nazi secret police force, labeling his rhetoric as echoing "the appalling rhetoric of fascists" and highlighting President Biden's commitment to democratic values and the rule of law.

Deputy press secretary Andrew Bates emphasized President Biden's efforts to unite the American people around shared democratic principles, contrasting them with Trump's divisive remarks. Bates underscored the significant reduction in violent crime achieved under Biden's leadership, positioning it as a testament to the administration's approach.

Trump's comparison of the Biden administration to the Gestapo evoked strong criticism, with many pointing out the historical context of the Gestapo's role in Nazi atrocities during the Holocaust. This is not the first time Trump has faced backlash for employing language reminiscent of authoritarian regimes.

In previous instances, Trump has faced criticism for his rhetoric towards immigrants and political opponents, drawing parallels to the language used by dictators like Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini. The White House's condemnation reflects a broader concern over the use of inflammatory language and its potential consequences in public discourse.

Nothing Biden says can be taken seriously ( and sometimes not even understood ). This man is seriously disturbed. And semi senile. He is a divider and a hater. He will say or do anything to get re-elected. God forbid.

Non American  continues his clueless misinformation and appears to be the disturbed one.

I think he meant Gazpacho. He is a dumb and read very little to have any knowledge of world history and even America history. Is this what some of you want him for President. Most world leaders laugh at him and see him as a doofus.

It's amazing to me that some Americans would rely on certain things that the POTUS has no control over (e.g., economy, inflation, world events, etc.) and completely ignore the individual character of the candidates.  It seems the Republican party no longer cares about things like morality, honesty, integrity, law and order, family values, etc.  Why else would they support a corrupt lying conman with multiple indictments who would cheat on his wife after she's just given birth?  Isn't the President supposed to be the ultimate role model for our children?  We'll see in November I guess.

Well, the GOP actually tried that a few times. They nominated morally unimpeachable characters like John McCain or Mitt Romney. Seemed not to matter, the Democratic smear machine was able to cast mud and drag the campaign downwards. Funny nobody mentions those things with the Democratic candidates though.

And Democrats seem very happy to 'claim' the current economy as a win for Biden, not to mention inflation...

Are you sure you don't mean Biden?  If you can understand his rambling can you take it seriously?  He seems far more senile IMO. But no worries.  If he's re-elected it shouldn't be long before his VP has to take over and we'll have the pleasure of her cackling after every statement she makes.

As for being a divider and hater he just isn't in the league of of the Democrat administration and supporters.  They seem to be able to deny any wrong doing on their own behalf while constantly denigrating Trump and spewing hate and childish names.

Such nonsense. Not deserving of a thoughtful reply. Keep drinking the kool-aid and listening to right wing podcasts.

IMHO, IF the Biden administration was similar to the Gestapo, then Trump would have "disappeared" several years ago, never to be seen or heard of again, and nobody would have dared to ask any questions

True, and IF Trump was a Nazi fascist, the same would have happened to various lefties and Democrats. So perhaps both can tone down the useless rhetoric, hmm?

I think Trump is being rather generous, the gestapo was much more organized than old sleepy Joe's regime.

Highest economic growth since the late 1990s, an actual passed Infrastructure Bill, 800,000 new manufacturing jobs, the Chips Act that has resulted in breaking ground on the first US chip plants in decades, and slashed prices on many prescription drugs.

Maybe Joe's great success is why the Founding Farter trump is trying to fall asleep in court.

Logic not your thing then.

Once a Dictator for a day declares himself to be above the law or annuls the Constitution, who gets to tell him h’es not dictator on Day 2?

logic clearly isn't yours

you're shown exactly what trump said and that it's always cherry picked, yet totally ignore it and double down on your TDS nonsense!

...and looking down on people who disagree with you politically, rather than trying to understand where they are coming from, may just cost Democrats the election.  They are already paying the price for ignoring African American and Hispanic voters, and insulting them if they dare stray from their 'natural' affinity for the Democrats.

I am not sure what a white supremacist like Trump has to offer the ethnic groups you mention.

Be that as it may, Trump has publicly crowed about his success in getting Roe vs Wade overturned. IMO a big slice of the women vote will remember in November.

If you were a woman, and had your right to a safe and legal abortion taken away from you, would you be voting for him?

I think it prudent to take statement that Trump will be a Dictator on Day 1 as a warning.

Because if he’s still a dictator on Day 2 it’s already too late to do anything about it.
