Is it possible to get a reentry permit on a tourist visa?

Featured Replies

My uncle with arrive on the 20 May on a tourist visa and we are planning to travel to Siam Reap a week later. In that case can he get a single reentry permit at the immigration before he goes out of Thailand?

Yes.

Can obtain reentry at immigration or at airport day of departure.

1000b single reentry permit.

Airport has extra 200b option to do TM8 and photo.

Here is thread re reentry permit at BKK. At DMK same process however office is just AFTER passport control

Yes you can as DrJack already indicated.

Depending on the timing of his travel plan back home, it might be easier to exit Thailand without buyng a re-entry permit for his tourist Visa, and return from Cambodia VisaExempt (without a Visa), which will provide him with a 30-day Permission to stay.

Is an option but not good.

He is only staying in Thailand for one week then SR for a week.

With reentry permit he will reenter Thailand with 6 weeks remaining and option of a 30 day extension.

As you have to show IO your e-visa paper on arrival what if you don't do that and just enter on visa exempt for the first week. Then show the e-visa on his 2nd arrival (saves 1000 baht and hassle of getting re-entry permit)

(There is a thread where a guy forgot to show e-visa so was stamped in visa exempt instead)
