After the death of a man who fell down a manhole, this 44 year old thought a drain would be a good place to hide.

 

“On May 11, 2024, Phaya Thai Police Station received a report from the public that a man was found in a drain near Yommarat Intersection. in the area of Soi Phetchaburi, so went to inspect along with rescue workers from the Por Tek Tung Foundation.

 

At the scene of the incident a man wearing a red shirt was found stuck in the drain pipe, under steel grating and it was raining heavily, with the water level at about chest high. Rescuers were unable to pry open the steel grating, but later after the rain stopped and the water level began to decrease they were able to rescue him through a manhole about 10 meters away.

 

The 44 years old was in frail physical condition, told police that people were going to kidnap him, so he decided to hide in the water pipe, for 4 days. Police say they will investigate to see if the man had drugs or a mental problem.”
