Well I'm going back to Australia tommrrw after spending 7 weeks on off in Pattaya 

And I'm looking forward to going back !

I done my study of the retired single guys here living in small rooms in both View talay and Arcadia Beach resort and what a booooring life everyday 

Waking up , in a small room ,some yes same without balconies

 

Waking up toddling down to the pool , staying all day on ASEAN then as my newly found old friend I met at Arcadia resort does ,he can't wait till the bars open so he can go get drunk and waddle Home in the evening to sleep and do it all again 

 

Some even sit ALL day at a cafe bookshop to get company 

What a boring life 

I'm so bored I can't wait to mop the hospital floors on my next shift on Sunday 

Waking up , doing nothing all day 

Ok for a few weeks but please please don't sentence me to 20 years of it 

No thanks not for me 

I need to do something in my retirement,sit by a pool is  ok for a couple of days but no I'm not going to sit at hard drinking like these drunken old fools I see everyday 

Even opposite I see a mini mart  with drunks sitting outside drinking beer all day same guys

,same guys unfit looking shirts off in the evening after drinking the cheap mini mart beer they drunkenly go up to their rooms 

Maybe ok for a 75plus single guy but please you are just wasting days

These old drunken old expats  don't have routines 

I watch one old guy every morning sit at that mini mart opposite Arcadia resort with the other drinks he then waddles up to his room in a stupor 

Please I don't want to end up with NO routine 

Waking up to do the same drinking all day 

I honestly believe these guys were NOT alcoholicd before they lived in Pattaya 

 

They are bored with their life's ,no routine,nothing to do etc

But ...but....the question is....if I did ...say I retired from my job tomorrow...accessed the Super 

Then what?? 

So I retire to view talay in a room , the super company send me 65,000 baht a month then I do what ?

Sit by the pool everyday ?

Exactly I have moved buildings to Arcadia resort where I see the same drunken farangs buying cheap Leo to drown their sorrows 

Please is retirement not for me or is Pattaya?

I do like Manila riding the subway could see myself living there so I could walk up & down the subway

7 weeks is too long in one place !

I probably won't come here again all  I saw was drunken old fools !

 

I need to be on a place that Stimulates my mind ,a place where people are of intelligent,and interesting , NOT sitting by a pool in view talay !!!!!

I think that's New Zealand sweetie we don't have sheep in Sydney ,get off the grog ,your a unfit old fart (your words not mine) who refuses to go to the gym or achieving goals !!!!

Shirts off in their 60's some I would say younger 

Very large red nose, shouting ,giggling 

That's their routine and you expect this as normal !

They do start off living the dream but ends up living the nightmare. It's well known that you have to have hobbies and interests not just alcohol and chasing skirt

The wider Pattaya area has thousands of rental places, from small condos to huge opulent villas. I lived in Pattaya for 9 years and wouldn't have dreamed of being stuck in a condo (although there are some fabulous ones available) or anywhere else near the city centre.

 

There is also a lot to do in and around Pattaya that doesn't include alcohol or any / many expats (certainly not the vest wearing ones). If you found yourself bored there and it wasn't due to missing friends back home... you didn't really try very hard.
