I was bored out of my mind in Pattaya

Do you really believe that you have seen it all and ALL the expats are doing what you say - sitting in a dark 21sqm room in the view talay? Oooh dear, seems you are a very lonely person, sort of lost in Thailand!

What are they doing then?

If you where bored in Pattaya then you would be bored anywhere, IMHO Pattaya is the least boring  part of Thailand after perhaps Bangkok..

its also said that only boring people get bored.

I don't think so, regarding Patts, you either like that sort of thing or you don't.

I personally don't, I will leave it to the likes of you........😋

Once you cut out the booze and the birds, Thailand is actually a very boring place to be.

There is nothing really going on and people are mostly either eating, playing phone or in the shopping malls.

It's actually a very boring existence.

I look forward to going back to a routine

These old drunken old expats  don't have routines

I watch one old guy every morning sit at that mini mart opposite Arcadia resort with the other drinks he then waddles up to his room in a stupor

Please I don't want to end up with NO routine

Waking up to do the same drinking all day

I honestly believe these guys were NOT alcoholicd before they lived in Pattaya

They are bored with their life's ,no routine, nothing to do etc

But that is the routine that THEY choose. Everybody has their own routine and some are happy with it and some are not. We just came back from a cruise around the Fjords and if they weren't on shore excursion, half, or more, of the older passengers were in the bars drinking by 11.00 am and probably did the same until midnight.

One of my old friends married then retired early and moved to Spain when he was 55. That's all they do sitting in bars all day and night. Different strokes for different folks.

I gave up most of that life when I met my wife as she doesn't drink at all and doesn't like the pub culture. We have far more interesting things to do than sitting around drinking and talking all day or evening.

Good luck with your floor mopping.

You know how depressed I would be  sitting in a dark 21sqm room in the view talay?

Is that all you could afford if you moved here ?

Sounds like you are no better off than those you fantasise about in your posts.

We opened a couple of businesses to keep us amused during Covid and they allow us to holiday any time we want to. Keeping fit with swimming , cycling and walking and we have a large family in the UK too. We each have a few hobbies and we enjoy being busy. If I am bored I will create something on the laser cutter/engraver. At the moment sorting through 1500 photos we took in the Fjords of Norway on a cruise last week and wondering where to go next.

Just so many things to do here if you look around and get out of your funk.

I disagree.

I don't think GG is in a funk at all.

I think he is wide awake and can see the wood for the trees.

GG is an alter ego troll, doubt he ever set foot in Thailand.

Mods could confirm IP addresses over the past 7 weeks !

sure in a judgmental kind of way. a little ironic of him telling of his routine while whining about others. if people want to sit in a bar all day drink so be it.

Are you also doing the same stuff? Sitting in a dark 21sqm room in the view talay? ...drinking from dawn to dusk?

I do it all the time,

Doesn't mean it's good though.

And it can be very boring at times.

True, the older I get I wonder what I ever saw in it, and why I spent so much time and money chasing such fleeting, and often less than amazing experiences.

Because we're at the mercy of our biology, reproductive machines that think we have free will

Is that the best you can do? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

NO camera around my neck. As professional photographer from the age of 15 my phone does all I ever need it to do. Why would I ever need a map?!

You could take georgegeorgia  with you...

Not me. I already have one. She is Thai, 21 years younger than me and the last thing in the world I would do is share her with any one.

I've just realised the total irony of these postings and the fact we are in the community pub forum. 🤣🤣🤣
