Bali Hai harbor plenty of room.  Knock down the abandoned condo build a big casino complex with shops and restaurants would be awesome.

But, I bet they will start at some of the less popular areas with airports to get more tourists there. Maybe Khon Kaen?

The Chinese will definitely love this.

Let the Chinese build and maintain the casinos and they may be inclined not to claim Thailand as part of China.

As a former casino employee, casinos are a total scam. If they legalize, you should definitely stay away. Because your winning rate in casinos will not be more than 5%.  If you see someone winning in the casino, it is most likely a casino employee. Not only customers gamble in casinos, there are also casino employees posing as customers hired to gamble 😄

The aim is to attract a wealthier tourist demographic

It will attract hard-nosed gamblers whose families will curse Thailand forever and mafia types who will want to own the casinos and leave a lot more bodies.

Why do you all think Taksin is back in the land of corruption he's already rubbing his hands together

Chinese gangsters all in it together.

Gambling is probably the worst and most destructive of all vices.

The unrestrained greed and corruption currently prevalent in Thailand is destroying what was once an incredible country.

Casino's will be a bigger problem than cannabis.

Without a shadow of a doubt.

If you are thinking Singapore, or Genting in Malaysia, think again and picture Sihanoukville instead.

Just look at what the Marina Bay Sands and Resorts World did for Singapore...and Singapore were against casinos for a long time.

Singapore also had a world class airport and world class zoo, which Thailand could have jumped on a Scoot flight to go and copy...but instead went to Kuwait and the Bronx respectively...

The casino(s) make a lot of sense and will put Thailand in the game (so to speak), IF they go with a highly credible casino partner...and leaves it up to them to run it.

..however, we know they are too xenophobic and greedy to do that, and it will be a mess.
