Ibuprofen 200mg?

Can I buy Ibuprofen 200mg in Bangkok, or can it be ordered online?

500mg is standard and available. Cut one in half if you can tolerate 250mg instead of 200mg.

Ibuprofen 400mg is standard, maybe you're confusing Ibuprofen with Paracetamol?

I have only seen Ibuprofen 400mg in Thai pharmacies.

 

However, Paracetamol 500 mg appears standard in Thailand.

 

One can purchase a pill cutter at most pharmacies to cut a 400 mg pill in half.

But you can ask about Gofen 200mg.

Ibuprofen can be bought at any pharmacy 

 

400mg dose is more common but I have bought 200mg strength also. May have to shop around a bit for it.

Please be aware that prolonged use of Ibuprofen will damage your kidneys and you may end up with CKD (chronic kidney disease).

Interesting. I normally purchase 400 mg soft gel Ibuprofen, but about every 3rd time I drop by my pharmacy to purchase medicine, they'll grab the 200 mg pills instead.  I know that the 200 mg is pretty standard in Thailand.

Have you tried taking 200mg rather than 400? Works fine for many people.

 

This and related medications does have potential for serious adverse effects (especially if used often) so prudent to take the lowest effective dose.

To my knowledge, it difficult to order medicine online, as it needs to be sold by a pharmacist, who you cannot meet online.

There are several online pharmacies in Thailand, easy to use. But unnecessary just for ibuprofen. 

 

Ibuprofen often comes  as  enterically coated tablet or capsule  so usually not advisable to break in half.

 

Normal adult dose is 200-400 mg at a time.

I know in Oz several companies produce a 500mg Para/200mg Ibuprofen tablet or capsule.

You just take 1 at a time instead of 2.

Works better than some of the stronger stuff on my recurring back pain. I BYO to Thailand so have never looked for it.

But u can buy 200mg. Just go into a good pharmacy and ask for it.
