Police Raid Rangsit Club, Discover 65 Underage Patrons

Police raided an unlicensed nightclub in Rangsit, uncovering 65 underage patrons. The venue, notorious for allowing minors, was found operating without a permit.

 

On June 8, officers led by Commander Saruti Kwangsopa from the Anti-Human Trafficking Division conducted a raid on a nightclub in Lak Hok, Mueang District, Pathum Thani Province. The operation aimed to address increasing reports of underage drinking and illegal operations.

 

Upon arrival, police secured all entry and exit points to prevent any escape attempts. Inside, they discovered a live music performance underway, with over 300 young men and women dancing and drinking. Authorities halted the event, turning on the lights and requesting identification from all present.

 

Shockingly, 65 of the patrons were found to be under the legal age of 20. The nightclub owner, a 28-year-old named Patipan, admitted that he had never applied for an operating license. Consequently, he faced charges for running a business without proper permissions, selling alcohol during prohibited hours, and allowing underage individuals onto the premises.

 

The case has now been handed over to the Pak Khlong Rangsit Police Station for further legal procedures. Meanwhile, the underage patrons were documented and allowed to return home, ensuring their safety while legal actions continue.

Amazing how they open without licences or permits, surely the local police see these palaces operating and check them out?

As many in the LOS the gains are better than the possible loss, a telling of and close his club which is an inconvenience whilst he opens another. 

5 years would send the correct message to others.

I wonder how many AN readers started drinking alcohol whilst under the legal age limit.

I must confess that I had my first illegal beer at the age of 14.

Mum bought it for me from the bar at the local community centre when we were playing darts.

She would drag me around to the bars and dances to keep the 'gropers' away when she wanted to go for a night out. She was recently divorced (again).

No one bothered her with a 14 year old son in tow.

Nightclub raid near university leads to police reassignment

Police in Pathum Thani reassigned five officers from the Pak Khlong Rangsit Police Station following a raid on an unlicensed nightclub near a prominent university highlighting the lack of action surrounding the issue called for a more thorough and transparent investigation.

 

The crackdown occurred yesterday when central investigation police searched a nightclub in Rangsit at around 1.15am, officers found a significant number of underage patrons inside.

 

Upon checking identification, they discovered 65 individuals under the legal drinking age of 20. The owner, 28 year old Patipan Intharong admitted that the club only had a liquor license and no permit to operate as a nightclub.

 

The Thai authorities confirmed that the establishment lacked necessary permits and was serving alcohol past legally allowed hours.

Patipan faces charges for running a business for commercial purposes, including food and alcohol sales, and providing entertainment after midnight, which violates local laws.

This incident led to the immediate reassignment of several high-ranking officers.

 

The directive, issued by the Provincial Police Commander of Pathum Thani, Police Major General Yutthana Jonkhun aimed to ensure a thorough investigation of and maintain the integrity of the police force.

 

The directive noted that to prevent damage to the government service and ensure a smooth investigation, officers have been removed from their current posts.

 

The reassigned officers will temporarily serve at the Pathum Thani Provincial Police Operations Center. Meanwhile, replacements have been appointed to maintain the station’s operations.

 

Additionally, an investigation committee has been formed to probe the events leading up to the raid. This committee has been tasked with completing their report within 15 days. They will determine if any police officers were negligent or violated disciplinary codes.

 

This swift action underscores the Thai police force’s commitment to upholding the law and ensuring all establishments operate within legal parameters, especially those near educational institutions.

 

The raid came after social media reports highlighted the illegal activities at the nightclub, prompting the central investigation police to act, reported Khaosod.

Not really a surprise as the only people in Pathum Thani that go to bars are the young people.  It is the only place to go for a night out with music.

How abhorrent that they should be having a good time dancing and drinking, of course we are left without any details of how 'young' the 65 were, were they 17-20 ??????  of course younger would be wrong. no mention of drugs or testing either. Maybe another 'News' outlet might give better info.

If he never applied for a license than surely there are no legal age restrictions being broken, because it isn't a nightclub, bar or entertainment venue.

How many bars were there when you were young in your town that underage kids went into with either fake IDs or just walked through the door?  I can tell you Kingstn had quite a few.  University kids are uni kids. They want to party, and if there is nowhere else, this is where they are going to go.

Given that around 15 years ago there was a well known unlicensed club in Bangkok that was open until 6am - yes he can, providing of course that he makes the correct contributions to the right places.

 

Anyone rememer Spicy?  Last time I went it was actually legal but it wasn't for many years. I think its closed now.
