A monsoon trough is forecasted to pass over the upper northern and northeastern regions of Thailand, extending into a low-pressure area in northern Vietnam and the Gulf of Tonkin.

What northeast?

? Again completely different from what worldwide forecast centers show for us.

Even the usually bad forecasters show a max of 10 mm?

Wait and see.

It's currently 36° C with not a cloud in sight in Pattaya. I'd welcome some rain.

Cross your fingers.

Forecasts (compare to above) show even less.

Come back to thread in five days.

The Thai government issued a warning for heavy rain...

Deputy Spokesperson for the Prime Minister’s Office,....

Is it common practice here or in your country that the "government" distributes weather warnings?

The guy from TAT now works for this Government department so we can ignore this... Maybe  it will  bring 100,000,000,000 tourists all spending bucket loads on buckets and umbrellas.

I just read an article earlier today, stating that the high pressure was weakening in the Andamn sea and rains were expected to be light! WTH all news in this country is ridiculous, whether it’s the weather, government or tourism!

Outstanding news, the vast majority of us would welcome heavy rain and the cooler weather that comes with that refreshing rainfall. So there will be a little bit of flooding, that's life, it happens every year.

Bring on the glorious rain, please.

just checked MSN weather and there is a big rainy mass coming right for CM and should hit tonight......

i have weather apps that just seem to guess the weather and hopes no one calls them out on it

Have a look at the TMD radar, nothing there.

As for the monsoon report there is nothing to indicate it on their synoptic chart or satellite.

Yes - we just had 25 cm of rain (10 inches) on Wednesday in parts of Miami. City and County government are issuing warnings.

You would see State Governors on TV warning residents of approaching hurricanes or snowstorms - happens every year.

national weather forecasting agencies in many countries are government funded. Their warnings are "government" communication.

The weather radar (rainviewer.com) suggests that the country will be pretty dry for the next day or so.

That's nonsense. Already since some hours we have at least thin rain here in the valley of Pang Mapha, Mae Hong Son Province. The same as within the last 2 weeks!

The Google weather forecast has predicted this for today, the last 2 weeks and the coming week. It's not strong rain, but at least "5 drops". My word for thin, but not a strong rain.

In the UK the Met Office comes under the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology  and previously has been under the Board of Trade and the Ministry of Defence.

This will be great news for all the noob TikTok tourists "living in Thailand".

They've no knowledge or deep understanding to impart and therefore fall back on 711 junk food and idiotic banal cultural comments.

Add weather!! It's mid June and only a few evenings of big rains behind is - not even close to a monsoonal drenching, yet according to TikTok hivemind drama queens we've entered monsoon season.

Because much of the nation a dry country outside rainy season.

We want what's best for ourselves, wives, kids and Thai people. That's rain.

Also nice if it cools things off a bit too!
