I'm not about to answer the first question, for all sorts of reasons.

 

As for all the others, Pattaya wins hands down. Angeles is nothing compared to what it was a few years ago and it was never all that much anyway. It's a bit like comparing "enter the name of any smallish town that has no real attractions here" against, well, Pattaya.

 

I've lived in both places.

I visited once. In 2019.  I thought it was a dump - would rate it lower than Pattaya on every aspect and couldn't imagine living there. I speak/read Thai - if I didn't then maybe AC would rate a little higher due to almost universal use of English.

Dont bother now, The mayor is turning walking street into an alfresco zone. The good nightclubs are gone, bars have been converted to korean (which is not always a bad thing), you cant play pool during the day because the place is so dead its pool league mot days at every bar.

 

I went late last year and wont go back after living there from 2016-2018 its 100x worse.

Angeles has been a mess for quite awhile but I'd still recommend a visit if you've never been there. At the very least you'll appreciate what Thailand/Pattaya has to offer.

Angeles is a <deleted> hole and I wouldn't touch one of the local skanks with a borrowed barge pole. Provincial girls in the trade are decidedly unappealing. 

good bbq though and the only wakepark near manila, even if it is little deeper than a mud puddle

Pattaya of course-Great restaurants, International stores with groceries from the west and the "Beach" with lot's of Thai women waiting to be picked up. I have been to both places and that is my vote!!

I arrive September 10th, and stay for seven days at a four star hotel.

 

Then after that off to Thailand or if I'm having fun in the Philippines then I don't know.

Spent 5 days in Angeles in 1998, cherry girls, scammers and pay up front then do as little as possible, if at all. Blackouts and a stink from a pig farm near the Woodlands resort, horrible never went back. Pattaya was little better, apart from being on the coast and no pig farm.

Well it hasn't changed much in 26 years ,I was there last year for a 3 day trip I Angeles City

Unfortunately my 3 days holiday  was spoilt as I had to use a broom & scoop to clean the streets , absolutely shocking dirty !

I did lodge a email complaint to the Angeles mayor 

Why please oh tell me you can't hose down streets ?

Has anyone been to Baguio city up in the mountain?

It's a cool and beautiful place - or that's what many say.

 

After being over run by too many tourists and locals my previous escape, DaLat Vn, I need to find an other cool spot. Cool weather and cool vibe.

PI is very interesting for many reason; They speak commonly good English and drive on the "right side".

They, ladies, also want to have serious relationship and move to EU & USA.

I lived in Thailand 2005-2016, and after having experienced a few Songkran Holidays (water throwing festival in April) used to take that holiday time and fly to Angeles. So this was probably 2010-2014.

 

Angeles was a ton of fun then. Great times in the bars, wild pool parties. I think Covid really did a dumper on the place, plus the Korean takeover; from what I see online (recent youtube vids) it looks dark, dirty and dreary.

 

February this year, I did Manila instead, had a great time. Flew from there to Boracay for a week, back to Manila a couple nights, then a flight to El Nido, Palawan (great time !).

 

In conclusion, at this point in time would recommend Manila over Angeles. Haven't been to Patters in 20 years, but good friends were there in June and raved about a really good time.
