Have tried many of them and what works for me anywhere in the world is "Smart DNS Proxy".....once set up, it does its stuff automatically.

I guess it depend mostly of which VPN provider you have. I haven't experienced problems using any country with ExpressVPN.

I find Antwerp, Greece and Singapore give strong signals and are pretty reliable.

I use my VPN (Cyberghost) to watch iptv here. The best location to point it at for me anyway, is Nepal strangely enough.

For general improvement of stability and equally good speeds to anywhere it's Singapore.

Singapore has an uncountable number of undersea cable landing points (30?). Coming and going to about everywhere.

Unfortunately, for UK tv, you have to be a resident. Much easier watching PornHub than BBC1....so I'm told. 😉

Out of curiosity I tried fake data with a UK VPN location years ago and it worked.

Can't tell whether they have sharper measures now. Best safety from being recognized as being on VPN is a dedicated IP (yours exclusively).

But costs extra.

I only use a VPN for BBC iPlayer. A freebie. How good was Glastonbury! 😂

Cyndi Lauper needs to call it a day though. Way past it.

You will not get UK TV via Nepal though.

Yep. I listened to the World dominoes championship on the radio instead of the England game.

I use Nord and have never had a problem.  I usually connect to the USA (Seattle) but I’m sure the other countries also work.

The main two reasons for using a VPN are:

1)  Anonymity.

2)  Circumvent geo-blocking.

If you just want anonymity, chose the VPN server in the list that is the closest to your physical location.  In theory, it should be a slightly faster connection.  Many VPN providers have this as an automatic feature in their software.

If you need to use a website in your home country, including streaming, then you need to chose a server inside your home country.  Even then, many companies blacklist VPN company's IP Addresses.  If this happens, try another server in your home country.  If they are all blacklisted, I suggest you contact your VPN provider and inform them.  They may refresh their IP Addresses for your home country and the game starts again.

Same for me. Singapore gives me the fastest speeds consistently .

Both free and fee based VPNs are available.

I like free, what's a good one to try?

I use Speedify VPN so that I can combine my internet connections while I use Zoom to teach online.  You allocate priorities to each internet connection and Speedy then uses that internet connection, unless your meeting requires more bandwidth, in which case it adds on your second/third/fourth internet connection to achieve the required bandwidth. Additionally, if your primary internet connection drops out even for a fraction of a second, Speedify switches over to your secondary internet connection so you don't have a 'drop-out' in the lesson (well, I think some of my students are drop-outs lol!).

I use USB tethering from my laptop to a 5G SIM (True) in 1 mobile phone and similar to a 4G SIM (AIS) in another phone. Then I use the laptop wi-fi to connect tothe hotel wi-fi and a wi-fi dongle to connect to a 4G DTAC SIM in a pocket wi-fi unit.  For my students in China, making a Speedify connection to their node in Singapore works the best.

It might seem 'overkill', but it's necessary if you want to ensure a reliable Zoom class. I don't need the extra bandwidth function, but automatic switchover during drop-outs is most definitely required. (Often the internet drop-out is somewhere down the line between Thailand and China, but using different internet providers helps to provide an alternative route).

From the Speedify stats I could probably get away with combining just 2 internet connections...

Absolutely. At just over one dollar per month if you subscribe for three years you won't get a better deal.

'Browsec' enables me to view geo-blocked websites (in United Kingdom) and pay bills etc. Much too slow for streaming though.

I have been singing the praises of "Smart DNS Proxy" as it has been brilliant for me – – that is up until about a week ago when I couldn't get onto the BBC iPlayer site!!! So I tried altering the profiles they provided to me, but still no go, and I was most disappointed that I couldn't get onto my favourite BBC iPlayer.

I thought about sending them a message but then noticed that they have a small app which you can download (free) and it shows quite a few countries in which you can activate Smart DNS Proxy, so I tried the London (Smart) setting and it worked, so I am a happy chappy again!

Anyone else had this problem?

Is getting a VPN a free service or a yearly service fee??

If you want a good cheap one, try Mullvad, no contract just pay monthly $5, easy to set up

I use Cyber Ghost and that connects to the fastest one available. I can of course change it if I have a specific need to but otherwise it works just fine
