He should have politely asked her to move to help people get inside the BTS carriage.

There are no laws anywhere in the world that state you have to be polite or nice to anyone.   Correct me if I'm wrong but swearing in public in and of itself is not a crime.   Only

  • They walk among us and unfortunately they breed.    He wasn't being rude, just normal for a ignorant self opinionated low-class ar&ehole

He said he did ask in Thai.

Obviously nobody moved, so he pushed by the people and said, "get the <deleted> out of the way"

A woman heard the swear word and started recording to confront him like he's a naughty child, lol

Why can't they just be decent people and let others on?

And she's trying to claim some moral high ground in this equation. 😆

Unfortunately, the F word has become as common as hotdogs in America.

But that's NO excuse. He was rude. As were the ones blocking entry onto

the train.  The foreigner will be in for a rude awakening if he thinks Life here

will be perfect.

Only if coupled with the threat of violence can it then be construed as assault/battery, which is a crime.

That guy was rude.

So what?

rude people are everywhere.

Thais are also very rude.

I have had a hell of a lot worse shouted at/done to me by locals over the years..

I think this is just another case of farang shaming and the fact that the woman sent her recorded clip to news agencies just goes to show how petty they really are.

I just don't know anything about the above statement you made and I don't care about it.

Just try that with the wrong character, anywhere on this planet, and you'll be history!

Reserve your colorful language to your home, family and friends, if you must - might save your limbs or even your life.

Most of these impolite a**holes, choose their 'victims' very carefully - the elderly, weak or a woman. And those who justify them are no better IMHO.

Were you the guy on the BTS by any chance?

It is infuriating when passengers stand by the door, looking at their phone, and 'refuse' to make space.😡

no.

I would've shook his hand though if I was on there with him.

It was the Thai woman doing most of the yeling.

She said is was a foreigner, looks Chinese and sounded American - no proof he really was an American.  Could have been any number of English speaking foreigners that use colorful language "get the @@@@ out of the way”.  I’ve heard the F Bomb dropped more by Aussies and Brits than Americans……….just sayin………Peace

Nah

Lets stick with American.

Absolutely agree!

On my very recent visits to Melbourne and Dubai too, I experienced this during the rush hours. The phone has made the humans in to zombies!

I guess its something we have to accept, willingly or unwillingly - one cannot fight the world, so to speak!

On behalf of all Americans, I would like to apologize to the woman on the train and all Thai people for the outright obscured and disrespectful behavior of the a-hole American. As an ex-New Yorker and longtime rider of the NYC subway system, I've seen my share of confrontations but none quite like this. Dude needs to reexamine himself and get some help.

REALLY? You are exceptional. Absolutely brilliant!

always thought I was.

Thanks for confirming!

Folks obviously never lived in Japan.

The Japanese rail companies hire 'Pushers' to help pack the trains during rush hour. After a few months using the Japanese rails, a traveler learns how to 'lean forward' while pushing with feet, into the crowd. There is always room for one more! You do learn how to move people when you need to, and no one gets angry at being pushed.

In fact, Japan's trains are so crowded that many lines have put in 'Women Only' cars to stop the easy groping in the crowds. But pushing is a non-issue.

Differing cultures, differing outcomes.

It fascinates me.

In Thailand, there are so many unscrupulous people and this society doesn't seem to mind. Such a wide variety of immoral acts are considered "okay"

But the F word is consider so bad in Thailand, like swearing is the worst thing you can do here. lol

I feel sorry for the Thais who had to endure this narcissist / Psycopath who above all has no idea of the concept of "face" that prevails everywhere in Asia.

So sorry.

Of course - that is why I said you are exceptional! Everyone here knows that, SIR!

In a somewhat related topic my thing is when elevator doors open and people are standing on the outside and expecting to get into the elevator before people exit.

If that happens and they don't want to move, then I move straight through them. Sooner or later, they will understand this.

You know how it works.

Please move, there's lots of room. (Nothing happens.)

Please, there's lots of room, let me in. (Nothing happens.)

GET THE F*** OUT OF THE WAY ! (People suddenly realize that there is lots of room and move while getting upset that their ignorant behaviour for not moving before when asked politely is being highlighted by the rude foreigner that is making them lose "face".)

I've had it happen before (in other countries) and - shocker - it's amazing how many people suddenly understand English just fine when you raise your voice and utter a profanity or two.

But when you are polite, people decide they can just ignore you and play ignorant because moving one step is too much of an inconvenience for them.

Yes, but only "face" matters in Asia, not true decency.
