Trump rushed off stage after possible assassination attempt

Trump has spent all his political life stoking division and bigotry. An assassination attempt from a mentally-unbalanced person is not unexpected. A couple of commentators have expressed surprise attempts have not been made sooner.

I suppose the defenders of the Second Amendment will claim the Secret Service having guns saved Trump. But what if the gunman's shot was more accurate?

That's the Democrats game plan, not Trumps. True it's surprising an attempt has not been made sooner as so many Democrats are on record calling for just that. The latest being Biden calling for Trump to be put in the bullseye a few days ago, all inciting murder.

The assassin wasn't a professional sniper and Trump moved his head immediately before the bullet hit him and the security kept Trump covered and waited until it was safe to move

My point exactly … not a professional … that explains why he failed. Who put him up to it? And how could he get into that position at all?

As for Trump being covered. Only initially, but no competent professionals would allow him to stand up and fist pump … he’d be covered and bundled into a vehicle. Not buying the narrative being pumped out in the media.

or secret service is compromised. how did a shooter set up on a building with clear sight a few hundred feet away and manage to get off that many shots.

Trump has not exactly made himself a pin-up boy of the Secret Service.

Think of how he was making millions off playing golf with them in attendance, in an environment where it was impossible to provide protection from a long range sniper.

Then there were the events of January 6, where he tried to override the detail assigned to him, and go to the Capitol.

Or putting their lives at risk during COVID, by refusing to wear a mask.

The Secret Service are professionals. However, given Trump's behaviors, the job must be a major PITA.

I'm questioning whether he even got shot at all? Mike Flynn specialised in Psy Ops, and he’s on the team. It’s not beyond these criminals to engineer a stunt like this.

Biden is close to stepping down. A new younger, mentally sharper and vibrant candidate was not in the Trump plans. If the game gets harder he’ll milk this incident for all it is worth.

Who is this replacement?  So your theory is I think; an unknown super candidate is waiting in the shadows and somehow Trump knew this and had someone fire a shot and then he used a razor blade to cut his ear.  Sound logical...

Pathetic. Why would he need to be a pro?

You are pathetic. As ever you deliberately misinterpret what is being said.

if you are on the security detail you don’t know who the shooter is at that moment (professional or novice) nor do you know if he is a lone wolf, or part of a team. So once he misses he or they don’t  get a second chance at a shot. You smother Trump throw him in the car and leave.

They simply thought Biden was the settled candidate. But in recent days even his closest allies are abandoning him. A new younger candidate requires a new attack strategy … and that might not work. This could never happen in the US? I beg to differ.

This attack on Trump is just enough to finally push him completely over the edge into full-blown psychosis.

If you thought Trump was nutzo and irrational, and paranoid, in the past,...

Then..

Hold onto your hats, Folks!

After this attack, you are going see a completely new and even more rabidly deranged Donald, than we have ever seen before.

Trump has always been unhinged.

And now, all his screws are loose.

The hinges have fallen off Trump's door, Folks.

Trump will now become even more dangerous than he ever was before.

Trump will begin to dwell upon the fact that just one inch might have changed history.

And, he will see this as a Miracle from God, and God's, or the Universe's, Affirmation that Trump is the Savior of the World.

Trump will become even MORE Grandiose.

He will be.... Trump Times Two!

Trump will find this lost inch as a Sign that Trump has been....Chosen by God, by the Universe, to Run the World...

According to Trump!

Link what? Too lazy are ya? Besides, where I come from it’s common knowledge prisons are filled with mostly left learners, you know…the term “criminal left”

Pure misinformation. Can't back up your bs. Sad.

Racist is what you resort to? Typical of a leftist that has nothing rational, just stoop to name calling and pulling imaginary myths out of the air.

You don't even know what the BLM protests were all about. Or don't care. Shows what's wrong with America

Its like a feeding frenzy for the sick left on here.

Primarily the sick right who fall for misinformation. Or just don't care

I don't know what the truth is. On the face of it, there do seem to be failures in security. Whether they are from malice or incompetence remains to be seen.

the left has also spent the last year plus stoking political division with horrible nasty language. many on here even called for violence against trump. you had one member on here say he should be waterboarded. others say he should be shot. oh the irony.

until now i have not seen a single person say anything about the 2nd amendment. only your  comment.

And the right has never done this? You really need a better source for your information. Totally off base.

Sadly. 10% of America is ok with Trump being assassinated. The political divide is tearing America apart. And Trump bears a lot of the responsibility

+1 & if you ask a scum why they hate Trump, they all are in sync with the media and reverberate the exact same rhetoric, no independent thought or opinion. It’s like they’ve been hypnotized and programmed to say the same thing over and over.

Both echo chambers are equally poisonous.

However, shooting nominees in the head tends to upset the centrists. It's not really a good election strategy.

You are taking his words totally out of context. But something the right does frequently

Right back at ya. Just repeating the misinformation from your right wing echo chamber

You are trying to smother us with made up nonsense and you are obviously not a professional security expert.

Trump's SS team was limited - seemingly to close protection only - it is much smaller than for a sitting president and therefore far less capable than what is deployed for Biden. In this case they used the available cover of the podium until the sniper's position was known, then moved Trump once they had word that the shooter was neutralized. They had to work with local police via radio and it looks like the police killed the assassin.
