Volunteers for civil defense in Pattaya took part in an annual training program to increase their emergency response capabilities. The training began at 9:30 am on Monday, July 15th, at Pattaya City Hall's Thappraya Room.

Theerasak Chatupong, the Head of Pattaya City Permanent Secretary’s Office, initiated the event. In-depth reports were delivered by Charan Thiammuang, who is the Head of the Maritime Disaster Prevention Department and acting Director of the Disaster Prevention Division.

The training was also attended by Surin Yimyai and Jirawat Proudchai, City Council members. Decha Rueang-on, the leader of the Chon Buri Provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office, and Chatchawan Phinsiri, head of the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office for Pattaya City and Chon Buri Province, were also present. Leaders of associated government agencies also participated.

The training course is a part of the city administrators' plan to ready the city for possible natural or man-made disasters that could threaten the safety and property of Pattaya's residents and tourists. The course lasted five days, from July 15 to 19, and was carried out by the Land Disaster Prevention Department, a department under the Pattaya City Permanent Secretary’s Office.

The main objective of the training is to give volunteers expert instruction so they can prevent and control dangers. The session is structured by the Ministry of Interior in regards to Civil Defence Volunteer Units, ensuring that volunteers are both capable of protecting themselves and the residents of the city during emergencies.

A total of 109 people took part in the program, gaining valuable knowledge from the experienced staff of the Chon Buri Provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office.
