Kamala Harris is bringing fresh energy to the presidential race, leveraging her experience from past campaigns. She has previously navigated fiercely contested elections to become a district attorney, the first Black attorney general of California, and a senator. Now, she swiftly secured the Democratic nomination in just 36 hours, showcasing her organizational prowess. However, the bigger challenge lies ahead: narrowing Donald Trump's lead in the polls and ultimately winning the presidency.

 

At 59, Harris brings a relative youthfulness compared to Trump, who is 78. Despite serving as vice president, many Americans are still unfamiliar with her, often due to misleading online narratives. To increase her visibility, Harris plans to connect with diverse communities nationwide, from factory workers in Pennsylvania to suburban mothers in Arizona and disillusioned Arab Americans in Michigan. Her campaign is financially strong, inheriting a $96 million war chest and raising $81 million in a single day after Biden stepped aside.

 

In her statement acknowledging the nomination, Harris expressed pride in her home state of California for its support. Yet questions linger about America's readiness for its first female and Black president. Some in her Los Angeles community express skepticism, reflecting broader national concerns.

 

Harris faces prejudiced attacks from opponents, including derogatory remarks from Representative Tim Burchett and Donald Trump. Nonetheless, she remains undeterred, having faced similar challenges before. Her strong stance on reproductive rights could be pivotal, especially given the backlash Republicans faced after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade.

 

Harris has pledged to confront Trump directly, drawing on her prosecutorial background. She has tackled predators and fraudsters and is ready to challenge Trump, whom she describes as a familiar type she's dealt with before. The race is set for an unprecedented showdown, with the former prosecutor facing off against a convicted criminal as the nation watches closely.

She's on the expected bounce. An upsurge is not unusual, but will it last? Plenty of time for the GOP to destroy her, based on her own actions, or in the case of the southern border, inaction.

 

IMO she is inherently unlikable, and incompetent, but will that be enough to make her lose? We will have to wait till November to know.

 

The main thing for me, is that she didn't win a primary in her POTUS bid- people just don't like her.

Jee wizz I live in California I don’t see any of that here,I’m living in the state with the fifth largest economy on the ENTIRE planet…..the wife and I go for our 3 mile hike every day sometimes in the canyon near our home ……no trash no illegals  no sewage….sometimes we decide to do the waterfront walk alongside the bay surrounded by millions of people industry and small craft of all kinds…..you would be hard pressed to find any trash or an oil slick you are mistaken California reeks of money and success.

A House Republican lawmaker is filing articles of impeachment against Vice President Kamala Harris on Wednesday, over both her handling of the border and knowledge, if any, of President Biden's alleged cognitive decline. 

Rep. Andy Ogles, R-Tenn., is accusing Harris of breaching public trust and of willfully refusing to uphold U.S. immigration law in two impeachment articles, obtained by Fox News Digital.

Biden wasn’t the official candidate, nor was Trump until very recently.
