Report Foreign Earnings Taxed Under New Thai Rules - But With Exceptions
Right now nothing has changed and a full tax year has passed. Maybe they make this change, maybe they don't but they sure as <deleted> have not done it yet. -

WISE - Banks that can receive money in Thailand
For myself and two other people who have used Wise for years, Wise is no longer "instant" and is now next day, a test using Remitly though delivers within 10 minutes no matter which bank. Same transaction amount, same bank (Bangkok Bank) etc. Out of curiosity we tested with a Bangkok Bank account held by a Thai person, thinking that it may be a foreigner only thing, but no same delays. However if we change to Kasikorn Bank it's back to seconds again, for us at least there is some tomfoolery going on between Wise and BBank. -

Report Police Clamp Down on Prostitution to Protect Pattaya’s Image
File photo for reference only In a dramatic turn of events on May 21st, 2025, Pattaya Police, led by Pol. Col. Anek Sathongyoo, orchestrated a massive raid to combat prostitution along Pattaya’s famed beachfront. The operation saw over 50 officers from key departments, including the Tourist and Immigration Police, sweeping the area in a bid to curb the illegal activities that have marred the city’s image. The joint effort resulted in the arrest of more than 50 individuals involved in prostitution activities. This crackdown comes as a response to increasing reports of solicitation by female and transgender prostitutes, especially under the cover of dark, along the beach walkways, writes Adam Judd for Pattaya News. Concerns have grown over violent incidents and crimes associated with these activities, stirring action to protect Pattaya’s tourism reputation. The operation's intent is to rejuvenate Pattaya's allure as a destination free from criminal activities. Two specialised teams were set up: one for arrests and the other for containment. The arrest team focused on capturing those suspected of soliciting clients, while the containment team ensured no suspects escaped the net. Despite their efforts, some individuals reportedly slipped away through alleyways during the operation. Following detentions, all suspects were taken to Pattaya City Police Station for processing. They will face fines and legal proceedings managed by officials from the Chonburi Provincial Social Development and Human Security office. This decisive action by the authorities underscores their commitment to restoring safety and integrity to Pattaya’s scenic beachfront. The operation highlights ongoing efforts by the Pattaya Police to maintain order and uphold the law in one of Thailand’s popular tourist hubs. It serves as a reminder of the dedication to ensuring the city remains a welcoming environment for its visitors. Adapted by ASEAN Now from The Pattaya News 2025-05-22 -

Report Foreign Earnings Taxed Under New Thai Rules - But With Exceptions
Indeed, the confusing thing about this whole situation is that the rule seems now reversed to the opposite of what it was before. Before you had to wait for the next year to bring in your earnings to Thailand to avoid it being taxed; now you will have to bring it in immediately to avoid it being taxed. I agree with another user that in practice, it takes some doing to prove which money is earned in which year. Personally, I have savings, investments and bank accounts, and any money earned is mixed with other money earned previously in either of those places, and some of that money is sent ... well if I were actually able to open a bank account in Thailand, some of that money would be sent to Thailand. Since I am not, it finds other ways to Thailand, like cash, or send it to my girlfriend through Wise, after which she gives me cash. -

Travel Thailand Ranks Among World's Safest Countries for Solo Female Travelers
I'd disagree. My female colleagues went to Pattaya, and were constantly being harassed by Indian tourists thinking they were prostitutes.
