'Medical' question (more the organisational part)

I would have a question regarding productive possibilities (if there are any) to tackle target-oriented a tenacious health problem with my upper back muscles/shoulder region.

 

Of course I am familiar with what it normally means for a non-thai speaker to go to a random doctor here, hospital or practitioner, and just the thought makes me shiver.

 

That said, I don't exclude that there also are some decent ones, but how would I find them? And I would want to start with explaining my situation in an email message, which of course he must see before I go there - not once I'm there -, such that my visit can make sense.

 

That's a lot of western thinking, plus old style - thus someone used to personalised european quality, which was the usual method prior to the onslaught from 2000 that led to the americanised robot society.

 

I see there is a medical forum, but 'nothing' is going on there, it seems. As I am in Pattaya, maybe there are people here who have made experiences in this field and would be willing to exchange some toughts on it?

There are plenty of good English speaking doctors in the large hospitals who studied abroad. I doubt that an email message will lead to anything meaningful. Just go there. How long have you been in Thailand? No need to worry.

I doubt anyone will do that because they don't get paid until you actually visit. I see a "Dr" on facebook called Doc Martin who seems to do a lot by email so maybe he would, he's in Pattaya somewhere. Alternatively an Orthopedic clinic on Pattaya Tai gets recommended often

Right. The same is true for those doctors that have received negative reviews. That's why I am looking for someone who has performed well. My hope was that I might find people here in a similar medical situation, but with positive experience made? And re your question as to how long I've been in Thailand: long enough to worry  .)

Since the English language is clearly not one of your strong points, you'd probably just confuse the bejabers out of any medical professional who read it. Really, just choose a hospital that suits your budget then go there and explain your problems in person, they don't bite.

You should post your request in the Health and Medical section (or, mods should move it) - there is a mod there who is super helpful with specific questions similar to this, @Sheryl, who likely will be able to point you in the right direction.

Docs aren't going to give a free consultation by email. You may find a remote consultant in the West, after you arrange suitable payment.

Can you be more specific as to the problem with "upper back muscles/shoulder region"?

 

There are both excellent spine and shoulder specialists - western trained, completely fluent in  English -- in Bangkok but they are different people so I need to know which to suggest.

 

Please describe the problem in detail and also any treatment thus far received.
