Popular Post jippytum Posted August 5, 2024 Popular Post Posted August 5, 2024 Dream on.... They have trying to rebrand Pattaya as a family destination for two decades. 3
Popular Post shackleton Posted August 5, 2024 Popular Post Posted August 5, 2024 Pattaya City is well known around the World as Sin City Single guys and old perverts don't come to lie on the beach and visit Temples The numbers of beer bars and night clubs with girls will confirm this The name Sin City will not go away The City authorities have to live with this nothing will change 1 6
Popular Post Polaky Posted August 5, 2024 Popular Post Posted August 5, 2024 There is nothing they can do, if they close soi 6 / walking street , thousands of people would be out of work , the attraction would no longer be there, it would force many to holiday elsewhere, just simply rumbling the same tune over and over. 2 3

Almost the Same price as a room in Hong Kong or Singapore s$250 average 6500 baht +VAT per nite. So if the hotel rates are this high, then families will just go to Okinawa, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia Penang or Langkawi or Bali.. Crazy hotel rates will deter families Well, just reminding that at least Langkawi and Bali have really stunning and clean beaches, with a lot of nature which Pattaya does not. Pattaya used to have some green, I believe Coconut trees, it's all gone. Some bright idea of some city developer. 1 2

The walking street without the ping pong show is no fun! I recommend that all families visiting Pattaya check out the ping pong show! It's amazing! 6
spidermike007 Posted August 5, 2024 Posted August 5, 2024 Well Pattaya is a pretty large city and I think it does have the potential to attract families. Now I think it's mostly Thai families, who knows maybe they can attract some foreign families. They do have a few go-kart tracks which are quite good, and perhaps some other amusement parks like that could do the trick. Many of us do consider it to be the PFP sex capital of the planet, and it will likely remain so in the coming decades. Especially with the dramatic decline of action on Phuket and Samui. Let us hope. LOL. 1
AustinRacing Posted August 5, 2024 Posted August 5, 2024 The elite are so Butthurt that their country and especially pattaya is the hub of low class activities. Too bad. It is what it is. If it wasn’t the hub of corruption also a lot of these elites wouldn’t be able to make the kind of money they do. 1
Popular Post Andrew65 Posted August 5, 2024 Popular Post Posted August 5, 2024 I first visited Thailand in 1985, I had booked a package deal through Kuoni, 1 week in Bangkok (Manhattan Hotel), followed by 1 week in Pattaya (Nipa Lodge Hotel). Flew on a QANTAS 747-100, Manchester - Athens - Bangkok (That variant of the 747 didn't have the range to do UK - BKK in one go). Kuoni stated in their brochure that they didn't consider Pattaya to be a resort that was suitable for a family holiday 2 3
NativeBob Posted August 5, 2024 Posted August 5, 2024 There are funds released for so-called "rebranding". How difficult is it to grasp? Cute guys at something tourism assoc./federation just funneling those funds. Normal practice worldwide. Skimming. No body actually cares about that <deleted>hole, we all heard about "turning Pattaya into family friendly resort", so? Not even a small thing changed. Just as klongs in Bangkok - as sh*tty and filthy as they were 30 years ago. Even worse. 1

Popular Post Watawattana Posted August 5, 2024 Popular Post Posted August 5, 2024 I wonder if the Grand Hotel signposted in the photo has family rooms? 3
sammyoz Posted August 5, 2024 Posted August 5, 2024 Government officials in this country seriously have no shame, yet they care about what they drive and how they dress to save face. Turning Pattaya into a family friendly place requires a little more than just "rebranding". LMFAO. If Pattaya is rebranding to family friendly, then I'm rebranding to the new king of Morroco. All same same just different. 1
smew Posted August 5, 2024 Posted August 5, 2024 Impossible on short run as the world knows Pattaya for what it really is. Family friendly??, then address and solve the ffollowing issues: noisy motorbikes, double pricing, soi dogs, rip offs, dirty beaches and poluted sea water. 2
CanadaSam Posted August 5, 2024 Posted August 5, 2024 In business, it is often better to leave a thriving business alone, and try new marketing concepts in a different location. Does Thailand have any lack of more beautiful destinations that could be made "family-friendly"? No! For example, Hua Hin, etc. Please do it elsewhere, and spread the wealth around! 1

Popular Post artotle Posted August 5, 2024 Popular Post Posted August 5, 2024 What do you mean rebrand? TAT and the levelheaded suits in Bangkok have claimed it to be a family friendly resort town for at least a decade. 2 1

MrJ2U Posted August 5, 2024 Posted August 5, 2024 Why not double down on its reputation. Unbeknownst to many (on this forum),Pattaya has a plethora of family friendly activities. However,it's main draw is it's gorgeous women, debauchery, excellent nightlife,5 star hotels, and jus plain fun that's hard to find anywhere else. It's a gold mine of a location and brings in tons of tourists. Plenty of other places to go if Pattaya isn't your thing. Another reason not to have ultra conservatives not run a government in any country. 2

It fill a demand by people with money. Don't like it, stay away from Pattaya. it doesn't need people like that. Next thing they will be demanding that Nana closes. Wowsers have plenty of places to go to suit their druthers. I hear Saudi might be opening up to tourists- they should go there. 4

The only place that was a bit of fun was Bugis Street, and when they closed that and cracked down on all that sort of thing they found that tourists don't like fun devoid places and that shopping isn't a tourist attraction. Got so bad they had to loosen up a bit. 2
impulse Posted August 5, 2024 Posted August 5, 2024 Have the kids in after 10:00 PM, and Pattaya is fine. Lots of activities for families. They don't have to shut anything down. Just discourage the real raunchy stuff until after 9:00 PM. Then they can pull out the boner pills, blue dildos and the ping pong balls for the husbands to sneak away. I suspect a lot of the wives would welcome the respite.

Crazy hotel rates will deter families You don't know what you're talking about. Let's take the Hilton Hotel in Pattaya - without even shopping around and looking for discounts, I can get a room for 2 and a child, with breakfast, for 4000 a night. Between 4000 - 5000 baht, you can have your pick from many 5-star hotels, but there are many brand new 4-star hotels in Pattaya which are as good as 5-star and around 3000 a night. There are also a lot of excellent 3-star Hotels for around 1000 a night. One of the major attractions of Pattaya is the cheap accommodation. I have a friend coming from the US who just booked a great 4-star resort hotel for $75 US a night, all taxes and breakfast for 2 included. 1 1 2
Photoguy21 Posted August 5, 2024 Posted August 5, 2024 Are they going to build a new area and call it Pattaya? The existing one is way beyond redemption. 1 1
