Motorists Face Disruption due to Power Pole Relocation at Heroines Monument

Motorists in Phuket will face more interruptions at the Heroines Monument due to ongoing power pole moving operations by Thalang Traffic Police along Thepkrasattri Road. These operations are part of the setup process for the Heroines Underpass construction.

The first stage of this project kicked off last Wednesday, on July 31, and ended on August 4, as announced on Thalang Traffic Police's online platforms. No pole moving activities were scheduled for the day.

However, the moving operations will restart between 9am and 4pm on August 13 and 14. These operations will impact the southbound lanes from the Heroines Monument to Tha Ruea Shrine. Following that, work will continue on the north side of the Heroines Monument between 9am and 4pm from August 15 to 17, up to the Thai Watsadu branch. The same northern section will experience more work between August 26 and 28, according to Thalang Traffic Police. Motorists are advised to avoid the area during the operations.

Road maps have been provided by Thalang Traffic Police to assist motorists by offering alternative routes to bypass the Heroines Monument roundabout.

Because of intense traffic on Saturday, Thalang Traffic Police temporarily designated one southbound lane for northbound traffic to reduce congestion at the roundabout. Similar procedures are anticipated as work advances.

Vehicle operators are urged to arrange their routes appropriately and remain informed about latest traffic updates from Thalang Traffic Police.
