Finnish President Alexander: Trump’s Patience with Putin Wearing Thin Ceasefire Talks Stall
Trump’s Patience with Putin Wearing Thin as Ceasefire Talks Stall Donald Trump is running out of patience with Vladimir Putin, according to Finnish President Alexander Stubb, who spent the weekend golfing with the former U.S. president in Florida. In an exclusive conversation with Sky News, Stubb revealed that Trump is increasingly frustrated with Russia’s reluctance to commit to a ceasefire in Ukraine. Finland President Alexander Stubb: "[President Trump] is probably the only person in the world who can mediate peace between Ukraine and Russia. Why? Because Putin respects and in many ways fears Donald Trump." "There was a combination of impatience and a tad of frustration," Stubb noted, clarifying that it had nothing to do with Trump’s golf swing. "We were talking a lot about the ceasefire and the frustrations he had that Russia was not committing to it." Stubb's comments add to growing reports that Trump’s stance on Putin is shifting. While he has previously been accused of pressuring Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy rather than holding Putin accountable, the Finnish president suggested that the Kremlin’s recent actions are pushing Trump toward distrust. "If there was a pendulum of trust and distrust, certainly Russian activity in the past few weeks has proven that we're moving more towards the distrust side of things," Stubb said. The key sticking point appears to be Putin’s refusal to agree to a proposed 30-day ceasefire. Stubb believes this resistance could result in drastic economic consequences for Russia. He is advocating for significant sanctions if Moscow does not comply, suggesting that a firm deadline be set for Easter. "The US is considering sanctions on Russian oil," Stubb said. "Oil, oil prices, serious caps on oil." He is not alone in calling for tougher action. Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, who also joined the golf match, has proposed what he describes as "bone-breaking sanctions" should Russia continue to reject a ceasefire. Sanctions, however, have not historically deterred Russia from military aggression. They failed to prevent the initial invasion of Ukraine and have not reversed it since. Yet Stubb remains convinced that Moscow’s economic situation is nearing a breaking point. "You never underestimate the capacity of Russians to live through discomfort. I mean, that’s what the Soviet Union was really about," Stubb said. "But at the same time, there has to be a wall at some stage. And I think that wall is approaching." The question remains whether Trump, despite his growing impatience, is prepared to take decisive action against Russia. Stubb believes the answer lies in the coming weeks. "I think we need a colossal amount of sanctions on 20 April if the Russians don't abide by the ceasefire," he said. But how confident is Stubb that Trump will follow through? "Fairly confident," he admitted. "More confident than hopeful." Based on a report by Sky News 2025-04-01 -

Aussie Credit CardS.
Hi there, I've lived in Thailand for the past 24 years and I never had any problems when using my Aussie credit card for online purchases. In recent months I've needed to renew my annual subscriptions for my antivirus and other programs. That's where my problem starts, I can enter all the details but then it cuts off so I don't get a net code to complete any these transactions. Has anyone else come across this problem and is there a way around this? The bank in question is Commbank. Thanks -

Lover’s Quarrel Ends in Double Death at Love Hotel
Picture courtesy of Khoasod. A love affair turned deadly when a woman demanded her lover divorce his wife, leading to a violent argument that ended in a fatal stabbing and a suicide at a in Sawang Arom district, Uthai Thani. At approximately 16:10 on 31 March, local police received a distress call reporting two bodies found inside a room along the Sawang Arom–Lat Yao road. Officers from Sawang Arom Police Station, along with forensic specialists and rescue teams, rushed to the scene. Upon arrival at Room 4, police discovered a Honda Wave 125 motorbike parked outside, with a white helmet resting on the handlebars. Inside, the room was in disarray, suggesting a struggle had taken place. On the bed lay the body of Mr Thongchai, 63, dressed in jeans but shirtless, with foam at the mouth. No visible wounds were found on his body. Nearby, on the bathroom floor, lay the body of Ms Sanit, 48, naked and covered in stab wounds, with a knife still lodged in her chest. Police found a partially consumed pack of Viagra tablets in the bathroom, with three of the four pills missing. A blue shoulder bag and an empty knife sheath were also recovered from beneath the bed. The hotel owner recounted how the pair had arrived on a motorbike around 11:20, booking a short-stay room. After two and a half hours, when their time was up, the owner knocked on the door but received no response. After several attempts, they peered through a window, only to be met with a horrifying sight. According to police and initial family statements, the two had been in an affair for some time. They had set out earlier in the day to visit a temple in Krok Phra district, over 100 km away. However, along the way, they stopped at the hotel, where a heated argument erupted after Ms Sanit was heard demanding Mr Thongchai divorce his wife. When he refused, the confrontation is believed to have escalated into violence. Authorities believe Ms Sanit stabbed Thongchai multiple times before he ingested something, leading to his death. However, a post-mortem examination will determine what was responsible for his demise. The bodies have been sent to the forensic department at Nakhon Sawan Hospital for autopsy, as police continue to investigate the incident, but initial findings suggest it was a case of love, jealousy, and fatal consequences. -- 2025-04-01 -

Is there something like a "Transit" stamp for visa exempt?
You need to clear customs etc at DMK. You will receive a visa exempt stamp. Later obtain boarding pass etc at BKK. Your pp shows one day in Thailand. It's not the number of visa exempt stamps. It's time spend in Thailand and time between visits.
