Popular Post webfact Posted August 10, 2024 Popular Post Posted August 10, 2024 A street brawl between two tuk tuk drivers erupted yesterday, drawing significant online attention and criticism. The incident saw the drivers engage in a heated physical altercation, ignoring the desperate pleas of bystanders to stop. A video of the confrontation quickly went viral on social media, showing one of the drivers wielding a stick as the argument escalated. Despite numerous attempts by locals to intervene and diffuse the situation, the conflict intensified, leading to a full-blown brawl. Witnesses were heard shouting in an effort to put an end to the fight. However, the drivers continued to clash, disregarding the calls for peace. The footage was shared by a popular Facebook page, which often highlights viral and controversial events. The page captioned the clip with a message urging the drivers to resolve their differences peacefully. “Tuk tuk drivers fighting, not sure of the reason, but you share the same profession. Please talk it out… Violence is illegal.” The incident took place in broad daylight, shocking many who witnessed it firsthand. The video shows the two drivers swinging punches and grappling with each other on the road. While the exact cause of the dispute remains unclear, the violent nature of the altercation has sparked widespread condemnation. Police were not immediately on the scene, and by the time the video was shared online, the fight had already concluded. Locals expressed their dismay at the situation, noting that such acts of violence tarnish the reputation of tuk tuk drivers. Many social media users echoed this sentiment, calling for stricter regulations and penalties for those who engage in public brawls. Comments flooded in. “This kind of behaviour is unacceptable and gives a bad name to all tuk-tuk drivers. They should be held accountable.” “We need more enforcement of laws against violence. It’s disturbing to see such aggression in our streets.” The viral nature of the video has prompted discussions about the pressures and challenges faced by drivers, especially in a post-pandemic economy where competition for passengers is fierce. Some users speculated that the altercation may have been sparked by a dispute over fares or territory. by Ryan Turner Image courtesy of KhaoSod Source: The Thaiger 2024-08-10 - Cigna offers a variety of health insurance plans designed to meet the minimum requirement for medical treatment coverage, with benefits reaching up to THB 3 million. Popular Post FolkGuitar Posted August 10, 2024 Popular Post Posted August 10, 2024 Just wondering... When a Thai gets into a fight with another Thai, do all his friends join in to gang-beat the other guy like they do when it's Thai against a foreigner? 1 8 2 4 5

We made a detour to about 2 suit makers during the trip and they tried to hard sell me suits. After the 2nd stop at a Tailors I ditched the driver in the middle of China town. I was a bit green back then. I knew it was not going to end well so I ran. I have not used a Tuk Tuk since. Just a bad idea. I always chuckle when I see the green tourists all smiles roving around in the Tuk Tuks here in good ole' Kruntep. 1 1 5
Popular Post sikishrory Posted August 10, 2024 Popular Post Posted August 10, 2024 Lucky he didn't die. Got the classic back of the head of the head hitting the pavement. That's what kills lots of people in these situtions. 1 5 2
Popular Post spidermike007 Posted August 10, 2024 Popular Post Posted August 10, 2024 It doesn't matter how much outrage there is, the decades have proven that the tuk tuk and taxi mafias are far more powerful than the police or the army. They operate above any and all laws. 3 5 3 1
Popular Post khunpin Posted August 10, 2024 Popular Post Posted August 10, 2024 Did this do any damage to the world famous image of Thailand as a high quality, peaceful place to spend cheap holiday away from crime and bad minded people? 1 4
Popular Post Chris Daley Posted August 10, 2024 Popular Post Posted August 10, 2024 RoboTaxi has been successfully trialed in USA. It will come to Thailand soon and sweep these people back into the slums. You don't know where to go? No map? No GPS device? Say hello to your replacement. 2 1 2 2

Popular Post RayWright Posted August 10, 2024 Popular Post Posted August 10, 2024 Would have been informative if the Jurno said when and where this event took place. Another piece of reactionary nonsense. 7 1
ThaiFelix Posted August 10, 2024 Posted August 10, 2024 No mention at all as to where this occured but I have a feeling its probably the famous "family friendly" destination of Pattaya. 1
Popular Post Deez Posted August 10, 2024 Popular Post Posted August 10, 2024 They really are brainwashed in Thailand when they think that it is only one incident that "tarnishes" their reputation. 1 1 1
Popular Post thailand49 Posted August 10, 2024 Popular Post Posted August 10, 2024 This goes on day in day out! But as soon as it hits media they are are outrage! Thais in general live in the darkness of denial especially the males who show how small their brains are one wrong word they are breathing, walking time bombs! 1 2

I remember about 10 years ago, just after the Junta takeover, the hapless army went on and on about how they were going to clean things up, and get rid of all the taxi mafias and corruption. LOL. They came to Samui, made a big demonstration of their power, two weeks later everything was the same. If you asked to taxi driver to use a meter he would just laugh at you. That's the power (or impotence) and sincerity of the Thai Army. 2 2

These Tuk Tuk and Taxi bikes are are never taken to court. They probably do not even if they pay there fines. Walk out the Policr Station jump in your Tucky away again threatening and scamming Tourists. In cases of Taxi bikes 3 warnings take the bike off them.
Popular Post cnx101 Posted August 10, 2024 Popular Post Posted August 10, 2024 Really was that a fight, so funny, but better they fight among themselves than hitting foreigners with sticks and things 1 2
ronster Posted August 10, 2024 Posted August 10, 2024 Better fight than these YouTubers you see getting paid millions 🤣

BarraMarra Posted August 10, 2024 Posted August 10, 2024 Do you ever see them paying there fines. If there serious enough to begin to clean up this behavior start coming down heavy on them so action is seen and a clear message is sent out. If we see you in a police station again we will fine you or take your bike from you, take this as a warning. What's the point in fining them all they do is Scam a few tourists to pay there fine. Is the current punishment working when they are seen openly fighting in the streets Attacking tourist Lou?
daveAustin Posted August 10, 2024 Posted August 10, 2024 Scoundrels. One of the worst parts of Thailand is packs of rough tuk-tuk and motosai riders sat around all day talking S about people. Yes yes yes there are good ones etc, but these numpties will hopefully be weeded out eventually.
spidermike007 Posted August 10, 2024 Posted August 10, 2024 I have an idea. Organize these fights and charge admission. Make it a public spectacle. Any type of hand to hand combat is allowed. The caveat is they have to go at least two or three, two minute rounds. Major entertainment. Come and see the Tuk fights. Watch two maniacal boys, who look, and smell like men, but have only developed emotionally to the age of 13, go at each other, over the tiniest perceived slight! Make Phuket and Pattaya the hub of Tukfights. Fun, fun. Come one, and come all! 1

Both in Bangkok and Chiang Mai I hired Tuk Turks to take me on a general intro tour but … well, it was a bit of a conspiracy, I suppose. I wanted to look around and I already knew the drivers got some kickback for bringing in customers. I was up front with the drivers … don’t expect purchases by me but they were free to take me around. I did buy two tailor made suits and four shirts in Bangkok. Still have the shirts. Chiang Mai was more of hiring the Tuk Tuk for the day so included my own Big C shopping.

Sorry, my mind just went off on a tangent. Wonder how AI driven RoboTaxi will be able to deal with driving in Thailand. I am thinking a sure test fo Alzheimer’s is during my car and motorbike here. Brain has to be firing on all cylinders or … literally crash and burn.
