Basic question. There are trolls that come and post only here that obviously make accounts just to stir the pot. The lounge has a minimum post requirement why not here?

i would say 100 posts. Many forums use this formula quite successfully. Even this site uses it for the lounge for whatever reason as that place is pretty boring. Most forums and social media sites use it in more controversial corners. It orevents trolls, sock puppets and bots.
