Picture of the damaged cable

A construction worker in Rayong tragically lost his life after being electrocuted while attempting to charge his phone with a damaged electrical cord.

The incident occurred at approximately 22:15 PM on August 20, at a residence in Pluak Daeng District. Rescue teams responded to the call and arrived to find the victim unconscious and without a pulse. Emergency responders immediately performed CPR and requested additional support from Pluak Daeng Hospital. Despite their efforts, the victim, identified as 38-year-old Surasak (surname withheld), was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

According to his friend, Chaiwat (surname withheld), both men had been drinking together prior to the incident. When Surasak’s phone ran out of battery, he retrieved a damaged electrical cord to charge it. The cord, which was frayed and had exposed copper wires, had not been properly insulated. Surasak held the cord close to his chest and attempted to plug it in, resulting in a severe electric shock that caused him to collapse violently to the floor.

Initially, Chaiwat believed Surasak had simply tripped due to intoxication. However, when he tried to assist him, he too felt a strong electric current and realised the severity of the situation. Chaiwat quickly unplugged the cord and called for emergency assistance.

The authorities are investigating the incident.

That is not a "damaged" cable, it is a dangerously modified cable.

But is that the cable ?
These stories carry photos without " stock image " or " actual photo "  explanation.

What I understand is

nothing is dangerous here till something goes wrong deadly that is already too late.

Even then, many do not learn.
