And of the Altar it is written that it should not be made with 'hewn' stone...

Exodus 20."25 And if thou wilt make me an altar of stone, thou shalt not build it of hewn stone: for if thou lift up thy tool upon it, thou hast polluted it."

Well, we do a lot of Church Furniture, it wouldn't appear that we pollute it, because they keep coming back for more :o

Stonemasonry is also known as the Second oldest Profession, do you know the oldest?

Moss

I can only guess!?! :D

However, if you want a serious answer, it's farming, as Adam was commanded to till the ground!

Thanks for all the good wishes folks.

I had one of the BEST Birthdays that I can remember, despite being stitched up by my best mate in Bangers for a meal that cost a tad under 18 grand...bugger !!!

Now that is interesting! It is said of Solomon's temple that the stones were so well 'cut' that you couldn't fit a cigarette paper between them! And of the Altar it is written that it should not be made with 'hewn' stone...

Ya' learn something new every day!

Where did they get tobacco from back then let alone paper to make a cigarette - more accurate would be to say "the stones were so well cut you could fit a camel trurd between them"

:o

Not sure of your source but the standard progression of professions is:

Oldest profession is the warrior/soldier

Second oldest profession is the prostitute

No idea where stone mason comes after that
