In a horrifying incident, a 32-year-old man was killed after being struck by a train in Phatthalung province. The man’s wife was left in shock after discovering that her husband’s body was found decapitated near the tracks. Local witnesses reported seeing the train stop after the collision, and the driver stated that he believed he had hit two individuals, though only one body was found at the scene.

The accident occurred at approximately 19:40, on September 3. Pol. Lt. Col. Channarong Sansang, Deputy Inspector of Khao Chaison Police Station, received the report of the fatal train accident, which took place between Khao Chaison and Ban Ton Don stations in Village 5, Khuan Khanun Subdistrict, Khao Chaison District, Phatthalung.

Upon arriving at the scene, authorities found the body of a man lying face up beside the railway tracks, approximately 100 metres from an unofficial railroad crossing in the village. The victim’s head was missing, and his body had suffered severe injuries. Nearby, a blue Honda motorcycle with Phatthalung license plate number was discovered. The deceased was identified as a 32-year-old local resident.

During the investigation, a local resident who had been cutting grass for his cattle at the time of the accident reported hearing a loud crash as the train collided with something. The train then stopped, and the resident approached the train driver, who mentioned that he thought the train had struck two individuals, but only one body was located. The resident clarified that he had often seen the victim walking with his dog, suggesting that the driver might have mistaken the dog for a second person. The train eventually resumed its journey.

The victim’s wife provided a statement, explaining that her husband had gone to work earlier in the evening and had not returned home by nightfall. Concerned, she saw reports on social media about a train accident and called her mother, asking her to check with relatives about her husband's whereabouts. Fearing the worst, they went to the scene, where she recognised her husband’s motorcycle and immediately realised that he had been killed in the accident.

Authorities searched the area and located the missing head and transported the body to a local hospital for further examination.

The investigation is ongoing as police work to determine the exact circumstances of the incident.

Hmmm. This does not compute.

oh dear Georgealbert .....  he was decapitated ...  very horrific indeed,  but was he struck by the train while on his motorbike ... because the local nearby cutting grass for his cattle said he heard a loud bang so that suggests the train hit the motorbike.

The details are a bit vague ...

I am sure the wife was in shock when she realized it was the husbands motorbike.

very sad indeed .... I hope her relatives can comfort her and watch her and take her in during this tragic event.

At 19.40 oh well I suppose it's a lot cooler then, but dark.

Would that indicate that the scooter was damaged in the accident?  Otherwise there's some interim steps between seeing the guy's scooter parked up, and knowing he's the victim.  He could just be a spectator, or helping out, or wandering around.  But if the scooter was squashed...

Edit:  Add that to the loud crash reported by the witness, which probably wouldn't have been loud if the train had just hit a pedestrian.

Belly up?

To add to all the other alternatives, how about

"headless body found lying on it's back"?

Found face up. but without a head. Funny! I thought the face was on the head?

Sorry, but this headline really should read Daft Man Hits Train and Dies.  Its not like the train crept up on him - its a huge chunk of loud moving metal

Years ago, the same thing happened to a chap transporting sheets of glass in north Phuket.  He crashed his truck, the glass slid forward, head wasn't found for a few days....
